9. Favorite cliche or trope?

I don't know about this one. I'm not sure if it's a cliche or trope, probably a cliche, but I like stories where there are no romance involved between the two genders. Like the Studio Ghibli films. It doesn't have to be romance for me to enjoy it. With S.C.I, KaH, and WoH, there's technically romance involved, but there isn't and it's perfectly enjoyable on its own. Am I making sense? Hope I am.

12. What is the worst writing advice in your opinion?

The worse? I'm not sure if I've given any writing advice that's not from my own experience. I'll tell people to just write out whatever idea they have before deciding if they want to keep it and other general things. I think I give advice based on the work rather than advice on writing itself. I've never gotten advice that didn't work for me and those are usually the ones I share with people. I prefer to give suggestions instead since I'm not an expert on writing myself.

Oh! Yes. I've gotten bad advice. I was told to explain what 'food' the characters were eating and to describe more of the setting because my 2-3 paragraphs weren't enough. They were enough because my creative teacher didn't have any problems with it a year later. The teacher that I had to hand it in is a literature teacher that teaches novels like Jane Eyre that spends 10 pages describing a single room. So, of course my 3 paragraphs weren't enough. Plus, 'food' is different for everyone and I don't want to isolate people. Some people might eat fried insects, but there are other people who don't. (She also scribbled all over my story, front and back, with the evil red pen. I've never seen so much red in my school life. Was horrifying and made me doubt my skills. Truly bad experience.)

24. Best compliment someone has given you about your writing.

I don't get a lot of compliments because I haven't posted much recently. A few years ago when I would write for a friend, it's usually:

"OMG! The feeeeellls!! I can't! No. OMG! Why?"

Along with some whining with my name.

Basically, it's just the reaction to whatever it is that my friend has read. I know her for years now so I understand enough to know what makes her give certain reactions and I aim for them.

2. Which sentence or paragraph is your favorite among those in the fics you’ve written? Why is it your favorite?

Hm... My sensuous pieces. I don't write them often so I really try to make them work and end up liking how they turn out.

7. Which fic do you believe you took the most creative liberty with and why?

There was one where it was plain dialogue. It was for my creative writing class. There's also those nsfw pieces that I mentioned, the sensuous ones. I've never thought about this since I just write whatever that comes to mind. There are also these two other pieces that I wrote for my graduation thesis and master's program that I had to plan properly, revise heavily, and put more time working on it than my other pieces. They were fun to work on.

I'm not really sure, tbh. I think it's usually the ones that I have to do for my creative writing classes. I just started writing again last year so I'm 'out of shape'. And not being around enough peers means my brain gets lazy and don't get creative enough.

Although, those ideas that usually happens because of of you, @mishathewtf do help with the creativity flow so that's a great thing.

10 Questions Every Fic Writer Secretly Wants to be Asked - 1, 5

1. Of the fics you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

My favorite... I don't think I have one. I guess it would be this short one I did on MRIAD that I titled Breathe. I don't write nsfw stuff, but when I do, I write it sensuously, through the senses. I don't know much about the topic so I stick to senses since its easier to connect to senses then let's say, what a particular action does to a person. Some people might be sensitive at the ear, others at the neck. But more people would know what it feels like to have something brush against your arm or like the warmth you get from hugs.

5. Did you make an outline for [title]? Did you stick to it?

I don't make an outline in general. I have a basic idea of what I want to happen in the fic and I fill in the details and figure out how to fill in the in-betweens as I go along. Like, for the kidnap Yuzhi fic for example. I know that 1) Yuzhi is kidnapped, 2) Yuelou and Keying are bait, 3) kidnapper wants Yuzhi, 4) Yuzhi nearly kills kidnapper, and 5) happy ending. That's it as far as outline. Not sure if that's even considered an outline. The in-betweens aren't present when I start writing and it gets filled along the way. Do I stick to these parts? Yeah, because they're the events that I want to happen. Do I stick with the minor details, sometimes. Other times, a new idea comes and it feels better so I write that and then decide what to use.

Fanfiction Writer's Ask - 21, 23, 45

21: Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?

There are a few whose writing just make me feel so many emotions that I just ache at specific parts. There are times when I just need a moment to calm down because there is so much emotion to process and I'm momentarily overwhelmed. (It's like watching KaH double speed, but the hurting parts only.)

There's also you because you're writing at a speed that I don't think I can match. You're updating often and have a list and completing them. Meanwhile, I'm being lazy and procrastinating or just distracted by something else in general. I would even pick reading your stuff over writing my own.

23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?

This depends. If my surroundings are quiet, then I'll just have some background noise or nothing. If I'm in public or there are people around and I can understand what they're saying, I put on music to drown them out. I find it extremely annoying when I'm trying to focus on my writing but my brain is eavesdropping on the convo.

45) What spurs you on during the writing process?

The reactions of my readers. Sometimes I write things a certain way to get a specific reaction from readers. (I do this with a friend of mine and the reactions I get are always satisfying.)

For the Get-to-Know-the-Writer Asks: Green, Clear, Orange

Green: Pencil, typewriter, or computer?

Typewriter??? Do those things still exist? I use computer, especially for more rated things. I do use pen and paper but that's for when I'm out somewhere and don't want to be distracted by tumblr and the wonders of the internet. Pen and paper help me make progress and write out a load, but computer helps with getting them out faster because I can't write as fast as my brain plans the plot.

I guess I would say computer. I use it more often and I prefer it to get things out at a faster pace.

Clear: Do your characters control where the story goes or do you maintain control?

Me? Control? Not really. The story usually writes itself unless I have an outline I want/need to follow. I let the story and its characters take me to wherever they want me to go. I would take back some control during editing.

Orange: How many projects do you usually have going at once?

Before Killer and Healer... There are like 10? 15? I don't know. Ideas come faster than I can write them and get them out. Sometimes the ideas stay as ideas because I can't write them out. Others stay as WIPs and get abandoned or forgotten. Right now, I have 7. Five for Killer and Healer and 2 for My Roommate Is A Detective.

What do you think of xiuhan? i miss them so much ;; any good fanfics you could recommend?

I kinda miss the way they interact too. I don’t think I have a pairing I really like or favor over others in Exo that goes beyond brotherly love, but XiuHan IS one that I like. I don’t know how to explain it, but seeing pictures of them gives me this feeling that they are super close and would be even if they aren’t in Exo together. Maybe ‘bonding over soccer’ type of friendship.

I can’t think of a fanfic with this pairing right now. Although, I did end up writing something with the two of them together, bonding despite the piece not being between the two of them. I liked that part.

I joined this writing contest for this prompt that caught my eye. It’s supposed to be a Baekhyun/Luhan thing. I picked that prompt knowing 1) I won’t win because it’s probably gonna be biased judging, 2) I won’t win because mine wouldn’t be what people expect, and 3) I can’t write them to save my life. (I can’t really see Baekhyun on good terms with the Chinaline, for personal reasons, especially since he keeps making fun of Tao’s tan or his accent.)

If you want to read the bits between Xiumin and Luhan, I can show you. I think I enjoy writing that page better than the rest of the piece, to be honest. (Not including the parts Baekhyun says something and Tao kicks his ass.) Don’t get me wrong, fighting is bad but sometimes it feels like Baekhyun would get his butt kicked if not for the cameras. (I probably would have thrown a cushion at him because i’m self-conscious about my skin color too.)

What's your favorite onho fanfiction? c:

I don’t remember the title of the piece, but it was on AFF. Minho was trying hard to seduce Onew after being together for months? years? I don’t remember. Anyways, he doesn’t succeed because Onew has no reaction whatsoever to his attempts of seduction. (Poor Minho.) Then, I think Jonghyun and Key were moving and needed help, Onew and Minho went to help out with the boxes. Minho had to put up his hair because it was long and in the way. Then Onew saw him and dragged Minho home like his heels where on fire.

As it turns out, Onew had a thing for Minho with a ponytail. :D
