Battle No. 355, dated 20 February 1982. Charley's War cover by Joe Colquhoun. This was the final cover with the 'yellow border' format. This format normally had the Battle logo in red (occasionally blue) and alternated between the long running Charley's War and Johnny Red strips starting their weekly episode with a single panel on the front cover (the exception being an issue that featured Fighting Mann). The format had lasted for 85 issues from July 1980. Presumably it was thought to stand out on the newsagents shelves but I was never that keen on it.
The "Big News" mentioned was that there would be three new strips next issue - The Fists of Jimmy Chang, The Hunters SI6 and Truck Turpin.

"If it ain't broke don't fix it". Warlord No. 387, dated 20 February 1982 featuring Sergeant Rayker firing a MG42. Inside was an ad for Red Dagger No. 16 with Tiger McTaggart in a similar pose with the same gun. The muzzle device at the end of the barrel on Rayker's gun looks different to the much more common one on the Red Dagger cover.

Ringo and Paul, picture from Ringo's Twitter feed earlier today. Paul and Nancy and Ringo and Barbara went out for dinner last week with Joe Walsh (who's married to Barbara's sister) Dave Grohl and Tom Hanks (kinda oddly). Ringo's currently working on a new album, so Paul may appear on it!
