Logan's Run by William F Nolan and George Clayton Johnson was published in 1967. The book was followed up with Logan's World, Logan's Search and Logan's Return. It inspired the movie in 1976, TV series in 1977 through 1978, as well as various comic books and games. The story followed Logan 3 who was a Sandman whose job was to hunt down and kill citizens who ran instead of submit to the mandatory euthanasia at the age of 21. The book was set in 2116. ("Logan's Run", Book Event)
