currently lengthening a character intro thingy I was working on, just by a tiny bit. I’ve drawn a scene like this before, but I decided to do it again because it’s oddly amusing (to me) when faye stands around sulking.

Skateboard Grit

A skateboarder tries to grind along stone boundaries, Defy either gravity or friction In order to glide forward, For no reason other than to demonstrate skill And look cool doing it.

He tries to surprise reality for an hour straight, Filing away at the impossible until it becomes possible. He takes a moment after each try to collect himself, Before trying again, Indifferent to the pile of failures at his feet. The mountain he is climbing is not success, It is challenge.
