I forgot to write an update on Bub's karate trial.

Long story short; it didn't go well.

Short story longer; we arrived a few minutes late but a good 5 minutes of that was me just being like "which of these buildings is it and how do I get to it?!" because it was on the grounds of a high school. Anyway we got in there and the tutor is already talking a bunch of kids through doing some warm up stretches and a couple of kids are coming in a little late. I thought no biggie, but I knew it wasn't helping Bub to be starting on the back foot like this.

Bub really did try but he couldn't understand what the tutor was saying and was struggling to keep up, and he ended up getting really flustered and ran to me crying. I felt so bad for him.

I offered him the chance to take a breather and then rejoin the group later to try again, but he was already putting his socks and shoes on, and looked like he was gonna leg it. I reassured him we can leave but he needs to wait for me to get my coat back on, too. I was so worried he would do a runner in the dark, but luckily, he did listen.

As it turns out, the shouting didn't bother him (the tutor had to be loud as it was a sports hall), it was the way he tried to join but didn't understand anything but nobody was there to help him. And I know the tutor couldn't give him special treatment, but he was struggling to copy the stretches and a bit of extra guidance would have helped. Never mind, I guess.

Anyway, I am so proud of Bub for trying.
