Thing 11 / picture perfect
this is a beautiful photograph that I found on flickr.com and it has a Creative Common No-Derivatives licence which basically means that you can re-use and re-share the content, as long as there are no edits made and you give the original photographer credit. You could even use this for commercial purposes.
I chose this picture because it remembers me of my trip to Paris a few years back and I really miss travelling and going places right now.

evernote web clipper
never heard of it? well you might want to give it a try... I always opened up a word document and saved a copied url with a comment on there whenever I had to do some research. not anymore.
with the web clipper you can easily organize your saved webpages, articles and screenshots into different folders which makes it way easier for you to find them later on. this is especially handy when doing research for a paper because it helps you to keep track of all the information you’ve already collected and what might be still missing. I did not start with the paper yet, but I saved all the information already, it’s there ready to use, which makes you feel really prepared. Also the little green elephant is a cute logo and the design and layout of the app is well structured and makes it easy to use. The only negative thing is that I did not know about this earlier since I could’ve really used it for my “Maturaarbeit”. Well I guess you never stop learning right?

So according to google, who am I?
I already googled myself a couple of times because I was just curious about what I might find. So what I found out is, that apparently there is an architect in Berlin who has the same name. There are no results on the google picture search, at least not on the first 3 pages, and be honest, who even looks past the first page?
I am pretty happy with what I share on the internet about me. I created my facebook account when I was 12 i guess, but then it was mainly just for playing that really cool fish game everyone played. When I started high school, I deleted that account because I felt like I had some things on there I did not want to keep sharing. Since I have a new facebook account I am aware of what I post and that is not a lot. My instagram is a different story, I have 204 posts on instagram but I am happy with every single one. The ones I got tired of looking at I simply put in the archive.
You can also control a lot with security settings, like keep control of who can see your posts, storys and content.
Think twice if you post the party pic from last weekend an keep in mind that it could show up when somebody looks up your name on the internet.
third thing.
is it really a smart idea to post a picture of yourself drinking beer and partying? Well, at first, it might seem fun and of course you want your friends to see what you did this weekend. but do you have to post that on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram? Think about it. You know what they say: once on the internet, it stays on the internet. It doesn’t matter if you delete the content, somebody else might’ve already screenshotted it, downloaded it or copied it. So you see, what you post is exposed and out there for everyone to see.
What is the goal of your social media? Stay in touch with your friends, see what they’re doing, be creative with content or even a business. So to say you want to make an impact with what you post, big or small. But do you realize you’re also shaping your future with the stuff you post today? All the posts and fotos are like a CV for you and show what you are interested in.

what I hope to gain from this? Well I think that’s pretty simple. I want to gain more information about working with online tools and also how to use them efficiently. I also hope to put a lot of effort into this from a personal point of view, because usually I always procrastinate things until the very last minute so with the “ 1 thing per week “ task I hope I can stop myself from doing that.
With the self testing survey we did in the first webinar I realized that I have a lot to catch up with online security and also content creating. So those two things I hope to improve.
So, I hope to learn some new things and complete this course with new knowledge, which I can use for my future career.
