24K Reaction to getting your hair cut
You stood in front of the door of the boys practice room. You were supposed to meet your boyfriend for lunch, but today you felt a little more nervous than usual. Your hands occupied themselves with the ends of your locks, they now just barely brushed your shoulders you were still adjusting to the lack of weight on your head. You hadn’t told him you were getting it cut, and to be honest you didn’t know how short you were going to cut it until today. They always loved your long hair so you were nervous about what they were going to say. You took a deep breath and opened the door.
You crept down the narrow staircase to see Cory sat on the floor various sets of paperwork spread out around him. He looked like he was concentrating hard, his eyes squinting through his glasses. He didn’t hear you coming so you snuck up behind him. Crouching down you wrapped your arms around his neck and clung to his back.
“Hey there.” You said tentatively.
“Morning sweetheart,” Cory said not looking up from his work. He reached his hand up with the intent to ruffle your hair like he always did. When his hand reached your head he paused. Cory turned his head towards you and you hid your face in his back waiting to hear his reaction to your haircut. He chuckled. He peeled you off of him and turned around so he was facing you. His hand reached up and placed a loose strand behind your ear.
“Well this is a surprise.” He noticed your hesitation to respond. “You look beautiful, you always do.”
“You like it?” You asked looking up at him.
“Of course!” He smiled, “Long, short it doesn’t matter to me you’re still you.” He pecked you on the nose. “Come on I’m starving, let’s go eat.”
“Hey babe you ready to go?” He was grabbing his keys and jacket when he turned around to face you. “You cut your hair.” He said a little shocked.
“I know.” You said quietly. “So did you.”
“I had to get mine cut.” He sighed. He had recently started cutting his hair shorter in preparation for the military. “You just loved your hair so much.” You looked down at your feet. You did love your hair but you loved Kisu much more,
“I did, but I wanted to do this in support of you.” You met his eyes. “I know I won’t get to share a lot with you for a while, so I wanted to share this experience with you. So you don’t feel so alone.”
Kisu walked over to you and pulled you into a tight hug. “Thank you.” He whispered.
You walked down the stairs and Jeonguk was playing on his phone. “Hi hun.” You said quietly and nervously. He looked up and his eyes widened. You felt your heart beat faster and your worry that he hated it grew. You played with the edges of your sleeves and met his stare. He was quiet.
Suddenly he began walking towards you. Putting his phone in his pocket he wrapped one hand around your waist and the other cupped your cheek as he kissed you. It took you by surprise and it took you a few extra seconds to relax into the kiss. He pulled away and you looked up at him a little confused. You’re hands were still a little shaky and you knew Jeonguk could feel it from where they rested on his chest.
“Relax, babe.” He said smiling. “It looks good, really good.” He said leaning down for another kiss. You felt your anxieties about your hair fall away as you melted into him, knowing he would find you beautiful no matter what your hair choice.
Music filled your ears as soon as you opened the door. Peeking down the stairs you saw Changsun practicing choreography. You couldn’t help but sit and stare at the way he moved to the music, hitting every position and every count. His dancing was always so beautiful to you. You spaced out and forgot to get his attention to say you had arrived. He stopped suddenly noticing your presence in the mirror. You froze, your nervousness from earlier flooding back to you. He smiled wide looking at your image in the mirror, it was a look that said he was the luckiest guy in the world, he turned and ran over to your spot on the stairs.
He bent down and lifted you up in his arms hugging you and spinning you around. “Hello beautiful.” He said putting you down.
“Hi.” You looked up at him nervously. You bit your lip waiting for him to mention your hair. He tilted his head like he was confused.
“You alright babe?” He asked.
“What do you think?” You said pointing to your shortened locks.
“Hmm” Said stepping back putting his hand to his chin like his was admiring a work of art. “Cute, bouncy, do a little twirl.” You giggled and spun around for him. “Stunning, absolutely stunning.”
Sitting at the bottom of the stairs was Jinhong waiting for your arrival. He heard you coming and stood up.
“Hey you ready to go?” He smiled.
“I am I if you are.” You played with the hem of your shirt.
“There’s this great new place Jeonguk told me about that we should try-” He paused noticing how quiet you were. “I know your head’s a little lighter now, but your mind seems to be up in the clouds more than usual.” You looked at him surprised.
“I thought you didn’t notice.” You said quietly.
Jinhong laughed lightly. “Of course I noticed. You know I’ll love you no matter what your hair looks like, I mean mine changes all the time.”
You smiled, nervousness melting away.
You walked down the stairs to see your grey haired boyfriend sitting at the desk in the corner. Wait.. grey? You paused perplexed at the bottom of the stairs. That was definitely not the color it was the last time you saw him.
“Seobs?” He turned around.
“Y/n?” You both shared confused looks and started laughing to yourselves. “I guess we both made some changes today.”
“I guess so, new comeback look?”
“Yup! Finally decide to ditch the long hair? I know how much you wanted a change.”
“Well I think we look fantastic.” He said smiling into the mirror running a hand through his now lighter locks. You giggled. “Come on let’s go celebrate our new looks.” He grabbed your hand and led you upstairs.
“Kiyong?” You called out for your boyfriend. There was no response. “Kiyonggg? Where are youuu?” You looked around the room, it wasn’t that big you didn’t understand why you couldn’t find him.
“Hi babe!” You jumped as Kiyong popped out from behind a table.
“You scared me!” You whined at him. You didn’t get a response, Kiyong was too busy staring at you wide eyed.
“Your hair.” You played with the ends nervous that his shock meant he hated it.
“Yeah, I got it cut.” You couldn’t meet his eyes. “You hate it don’t you.”
“What? No no no,” He ran over to you and pulled you into a hug. “You look beautiful babe, it looks amazing.”
“Really?” You asked hugging him back.
“Yeah really.” He smiled.
