I was attending the Grammys with my girlfriend Camila. I wasn’t performing that year but she was and I was just there to support her. She’d been doing this meditation program on the Calm App called ‘How To Meditate’ with Jeff Warren. She’d been encouraging me to try it. That day, she was on day seven of the program. Performing at the Grammys is a stressful experience. The entire music industry is watching and the stakes feel gigantic. I’m watching Camila go through all of this and I’m in complete awe. She’s so present, so grounded and graceful. I realized right then it was time for me to revisit this meditation thing. And that set off my journey. I took Camila’s advice and started the 'How to Meditate’ program on Calm.

This was a phase in my life when everything was moving really fast. I had a ton going on and everything felt way too super important. My schedule was packed, I was finishing my album and I was dating Shawn for the first time. I was so in love with him that it was actually terrifying.
