Your fine painting of 2530 Diesel. You said the cab had to go. Does that mean it had to be reconfigured into the 2400 class, or because of its height it could not run under the electric wires?
First of all, thank you for the kind words ♥ I know most people are here for the animal artwork, but I'm glad the railway art is appreciated too. Especially when it's of a dear old girl like 2530 that I still get to work with.
As for your question, I think you're referring to the sentence "Eventually she too had to conform to standards (...)" in the description? If so, that was actually referring to her colour! A few years into her career she lost her distinctive lilac coat for the (then standard) diesel brown. She most certainly kept her cab! Her design was intended to run on Dutch railways, so there were no problems with the overhead wires. Together with her now rightfully returned lilac colour, the odd cab is what makes her one of the most special diesels we have in our collection :) Here she is just a few months back - out on a run to stretch her legs with sister 2459!
