Okay. Who am I now?
Here are 25 things I learned before I turn 25.
It’s okay to set boundaries with family.
Drugs/alcohol are all fun and games until you watch someone you love become someone you don’t know.
God is REAL.
You are not your past.
Not everyone is going to like you, and that’s okay.
Not everyone will believe in the same values as you, that is also okay.
Sex is such an intimate and emotional thing, even if you are just “hooking up.” It’s important to know that WHOEVER you have sex with you are giving a part of yourself to that person.
Don’t be afraid to talk about your feelings.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Don’t be afraid.
Working out should be fun, and help with your self-confidence. Don’t ever compare your progress or your body to others; because first of all, EVERYONE progresses differently, and second of all, EVERYONE is there for the same reason you are - to be stronger and better.
MENTAL HEALTH IS A THING AND IT’S IMPORTANT. SO IS SUICIDE, SELF-HARM, AND ADDICTION. @projectsemicolon829
Look for the similarities in others, rather than the differences. You’ll find that everyone is the same in one way or another.
You are never alone. Even when you feel like you are, most of the time when you open up to someone you trust, you’ll find that they are able to emphasize with you.
Do not cast your pearls before swine.
The opinions of others don’t matter. Most of the time whenever someone is talking negatively behind your back it’s because they are threatened by you.
Everyone has a story, so please try to be kind, friendly, generous, helpful, and grateful to everyone you encounter.
Read something that is productive and beneficial to your well being.
Even on your worst days try and find three things to be grateful for.
Remember to take care of yourself too. However, that looks like if that’s journaling, watching a movie, doing a face mask, going for a leisure walk, calling an old friend, or listening to music.
Forgive yourself, daily if needed.
Celebrate the success of others, even if you don’t really know them.
There’ll be times when you’re up, and times when you’re down.
That void you’re feeling is most likely a spiritual void. Find a church. Find Jesus. Find the love you have been looking for.
You are where you are meant to be. Trust the process. You are not too late. Keep going. You’re doing the best you can.
