Should Millions of Undocumented Immigrants Be Allowed to Live in the U.S. Without Fear of Getting Deported?

In my opinion, I feel like undocumented immigrants should be allowed to live in the U.S. without the fear of getting deported. This comes with pros and cons from both sides. Immigrants should show respect to the country they are living in and should get that in return. The U.S. has a better lifestyle than where the immigrants came from and are only trying to live the same way for their future. This country could help the immigrants by being able to let them work anywhere or be anywhere or do anything without the thought of them having even a slight chance of getting deported. See my dad thankfully became a U.S. Citizen about 2 years ago and ever since then, his mind has been better. My parents went through a really rough path coming into this country then having a baby at 17 years old with no papers. Having a baby at such a young age was their problem but not having the ability to do a lot because my dad is an immigrant was a real struggle with a lot of stress and fright on having a chance to being deported. A ton of immigrants still struggle and have such fear to this day and some of those people are all my aunts and uncles and it sucks watching them go through such hassle just because they wanted to live a better life for themselves and their children. Hopefully, the U.S. can make some changes to better their country and not have immigrants live in their country without the fear of getting deported.

15 - Mundane/Basic AU | Overstimulation | Angst | Collaring

Gabrielle had enough.

The werewolves weren’t bad company, per se. Thy were really quite nice, all of them. Protective, even.

But waking up with a cold nose against her neck or a tail tapping on the floor on purpose. Called for some kind of measured response.

The next morning, she waited until the very quiet feet were close to her, fur rustled the tiniest bit… and the nose was this close to make contact with her neck when she turned around and-

Gabrielle grinned in victory. That would show him, being collared like an actual dog. She’ll get it off of him tomorrow. When he promised he wouldn’t wake her like this again.

And Mazin indeed… looked shocked. And felt around the sturdy metal collar around his neck. It fit snugly. Not much room to get out, really.

It was wonderful to see him that frazzled. Eyes wandering from side to side until his fingers found the lock.

She only had time to consider she might have misjudged something before he leaned forward – despite the leash attached – and said in a low growl: “Well, what does mistress want plaything to do?”

The sultry look made her… blush.

And when he wandered downwards  kissing her breasts and belly and navel and then-

… when he was rather more intensely interested today, she might have been grateful for a leash she could pull to get him closer and her off.

He licked his lips and smirked afterwards: “I think… I’ll keep this for a while,” winked at her… and left.

Gabrielle buried herself in her bedding. Damn his talented tongue.

15 - Collaring

I've been feeling...

With everything going on about the hurricane recently I’ve been overwhelmed and exhausted by the news. After I helped get family and friends evacuated from my home town, I felt a mix of relief and tremendous responsibility. My tiny apartment meant for just me and my cat now has two massive dogs, two people and a cat in it. It’s been hard to de-stress and stop worrying about everyone.

Earlier today was the first time I got to focus on myself and do things I needed. I got homework done, cleaned and cooked. Though those all sound melancholy, but I loved it. It got rid of things I had been meaning to do and helped to bring me a sense of relaxation and helped me to be proud of myself.

After I took care of the things I needed to do I felt happy with myself and my outlook on everything shifted. The dogs and my boyfriend weren’t a burden to be staying with me anymore. I got to lay down and be at peace. I was filled with love and got to be as peaceful as the dogs were sleeping, as pictured. I need to remind myself that any negative emotions I might be feeling could just be related to stress, as soon as I get my barrings I could be in a much different bracket of the emotion circle.

I am hoping that through this class I will be able to learn more words to express to others and myself when I am feeling overwhelmed and sad, that are more specific than those two.

For the story I cannot decide whether I want to have a reveal at the end be shocking and use the fact that the reader will have all these preconceived notions to my benefit or I try to incorporate details about the society until a larger reveal towards the end. I know I want one character to be an outsider. It'd be a two character story for the most part with interactions from people in the day. I want it to feel very mundane and bleak. The setting would be between a diner (where the thin girl works) and a dress shop (where her large friend works). I want to use the idea of mirrors in the dress shop with her to be part of the revelation. I haven't written much of the story, I started in the middle but I really like this section "Full round figures reflected in every direction she looked. She could hear them clouding her mind, how sad, pity, would you look at the size of that one, how can she stand on those little things, why is she here, nothing’s in her size. She wished she could argue. She wished for her tired feet to allow her to leave. She wished the bell would get people to stop looking at her on the way out." I'm trying to use the bell as a conditioned stimulus attached to the state of feeling out of place and inadequate for the thin character, because in psych we learned about that. And a bell ringing in your ear is just a painful uncomfortable experience to begin with.

He struggles with people, with talking, with phone calls, but he is lonely.

He doesn’t know what to expect when he dials the number, a number written down and erased and rewritten in pen in the margin of a book he rented from the library. All he knows is that it is scribbled next to the words, “to call on lonely nights.”

He is lonely. It is night.

The phone connects to the other line.

“Hello?”

The voice is a little low for a woman, a little high for a man.

“H-i,” he says, faltering. Every passing second makes him feel slow and stupid.

“You found my number?”

He is confused. “Yes?”

“You are lonely?”

He doesn’t respond, feeling lost.

“Sorry, dumb question. Do you want me to meet you somewhere?”

There’s a 24-hour diner at the nearest intersection, about a five-minute walk away. He names it.

“I can be there in ten minutes,” the voice tells him. “Who should I look for? Or do you want to look for me?”

“I’ll find you,” he says.

“I’ll do my best to stand out,” the voice replies, sounding pleased. “Black hair, black clothes, neon accents. Sound good?”

He doesn’t quite understand what the voice means by it, but he says he’ll find the other anyway.

“Cool. You have my number if you need it. I’ll be there in ten minutes, and I’ll stay there for at least an hour. See you!”

“Bye,” he whispers, and the line clicks.

He stares at the blank screen.

Ten minutes later, he is pulling on his shoes as he slips out of the building.

Tumbling tricks : Open Para

Little Mary loved watching the other girls dancing and loved to try and copy their more advanced dance moves, even if they were very complicated. Sometimes she tried to turn like Chloe or jump like Maddie but her favorite things to try and copy were tricks like Brooke or Mackenzie did in their dances. Once she had found a small empty studio, she ran in to practice. They made it look so easy but the little blonde dancer did not find it easy in the slightest. Wearing her pink leotard and white tights, she pulled on her pigtails before struggling to pull out a practice mat. Miss Rebecca, her tiny tots teacher, said that is was always important to use the mats when practicing acro because it was safer, making the floor softer to land on. And Mary needed the softer floor, she fell over a lot. "Step one" She said to herself, standing on the mat that she had dragged out in front of the mirror. "We warms up, that's important". With a smile, she slid down into the splits and stretched forwards and backwards, warming up. 

Once she was all warmed up and ready to dance, she knelt on her knees to roll forwards into a chin stand like she saw Mackenzie and Nia do in their acro routines. She could get into position, bending forwards but her balance wasn't very good at the moment. As she tried again, her little feet kicking in the air as she struggled to keep her balance, she didn't notice the door opening behind her and someone coming into the studio.
