Tribute: The Victims of Nature 

For months it does not draw something but I already put the batteries, accommodate and configure the tablet to taste and then I did something special. This I wanted to finish yesterday but good as it is: Yesterday it was 8 years since the Tsunami and Quantum Earthquake 8.8 that hit my country , leaving 525 dead and many missing who still can not find. This event left me with a clear warning that nature should be respected since at any moment it can end everything in its path. My most sincere condolences to those who lost a loved one that fateful day

Am I overreacting? (27F) Friend (26NB) insults my appearance

Whenever the topic of beauty standards comes up, we agree that it's shitty to make other people feel bad for their appearance.

However, when it's a physical attribute related to something I have, they find a way to insult it.

"You're getting gray hairs already? That sucks. In my opinion gray hairs only look attractive on middle aged people, like silver foxes."

"Freckles honestly look bad."

"Your hands look weird." - In reference to me having slender hands.

When I openly express my upset at being told these things, they jump to the defense "it's just personal preference, it's subjective"

I don't understand, I have never put them down like this. I don't for the life of me know why they like to do this to me. I understand that preferences are a thing, obviously, and I don't expect them to tell a lie, but it feels like they're putting me down intentionally. And then they imply that I'm overreacting because I'm hurt. It makes me wonder if I really am being dramatic.

I remained friends with a girl who made me feel terrible for not wearing “enough” makeup. I naturally don’t need much. Not trying to toot my own horn, but I don’t. I have good skin and good features with a sharp jaw line and cheek bones. I don’t need to contour. I also don’t need much blush as I have naturally pink cheeks.

Anytime we’d get dolled up to go out she’d say “that’s all you’re doing for makeup?” Yet I’d get more compliments than her.

Even with all of this, her comments always made me feel about myself. I don’t feel I was pretty enough because I didn’t spend hours on my hair/ makeup.

Don’t be friends with girls like this. They are insecure and rude.”
