He took a deep breath, and gripped Harry’s hand.

He wasn’t sure what he expected; an electric shock through his system, all of the clouds parting so the sun could shine down on them, or maybe some kind of confirmation that this was it.

What he got was warmth, a gentle grip, and a slight shiver down his spine. He still knew.

Louis and Harry know that they’re meant for each other. When Harry proposes, Louis doesn’t think he’s ever been so happy until he realises Harry’s ex-boyfriend is only a few tables over, and maybe instead of a marriage, it’s time for a breakup.

28 Proposals Fic Fest

Gauging interest

This fic fest would be later in the year. The @28proposalsfest would be limited to 28 fics, each one a different AU with a different proposal. So in a way, it would be similar to @50reasons.

(If I plan far enough out they could post daily throughout the month of February 2020, though I was thinking fall or leading up to xmas).

Prompts are where I’m stuck. I can come up with 28 boring proposals on my own, but I thought it would be better if I had more input.

So I’m curious

1) will I be able to get 28 authors?

2) will people submit enough unique proposal prompts?

3) will this be worth my time and effort?

Proposal #28: 

Foolishly Laying Our Hearts On The Table

“You think Harry wants that?”

“Dunno. Maybe. Wanna make him happy.” Harry takes advantage of the red light he’s pulled up to turn and look properly at Louis’ face. He’s not even looking in Harry’s direction though, focused instead on something out of his side window, head drooped, mindlessly playing with the string of his hoodie between his fingers, lost in his own world somewhere. For some reason, it makes Harry’s spine straighten.

“Because he’s your best mate?” Harry questions carefully.

“He’s my boyfriend.”

He couldn’t have heard him right. “What?”

Louis releases a deep breath, still not turning around. Harry wonders who he thinks he’s talking to right now. “He’s so pretty. Want to kiss him all day long. And buy him a big house and give him presents and marry him.”

Or

The one where Harry is in love with his best friend Louis but doesn't think he stands a chance until some wisdom teeth and a rather unusual confession might just change his mind.

Proposal #2:

on the same page

He finds Harry curled into a ball on the couch, bed clothes around him and Nina resting her big head against the side of his neck. Louis has to physically stop himself from asking what’s wrong for the nth time, the sight of Harry so obviously, pathetically upset about something almost too much. But he’s given Harry enough chances to talk, he thinks. It’s his turn to be a prick.
