day 1 of the (supposed) arcade marathon complete, now let's move onto the other game center for the second part... consisting mostly of PERFORMAI!!! (and a bit of bemani)

it took me a while as i was trying to negotiate an entry challenge with my friend, but i got in and got to work on my ultimate goal to complete in an hour: an S-rank score on Tsunagite Expert. i couldn't just dive into it headfirst though, so i took things slow and safe with an Immediate SSS+ on Shou [MASTER Lv.11+], an S+ on HOT LIMIT [MASTER Lv.12], and a near-SSS on PERFECT HUMAN [MASTER Lv.11] somehow... (just ignore that you can't play the last one anymore w)

but then as soon as i wrapped up those sets and failed an attempt on the chart on final track, i locked tf in and got the S-rank!!! but not only that... i got an S-rank FC on Tsunagite [EXPERT Lv.13+] alongside an S-rank on raputa [EXPERT Lv.13+]??? followed by... achieving Silver with an S on Umapyoi Densetsu [Re:MASTER Lv.13]??? then shortly afterward, an SS on Shun-ran [MASTER Lv.13], an S+ on Party 4U (holy nite mix) [MASTER Lv.13+], and another S+ on Yuusha [Re:MASTER Lv.13]... Yeah Okay Sure Why Not

breaking away from the pain a bit to get an EC on Arabian Rave Night [SPA-11] and a near-S on Rooftop Run: Act1... but MyMaiMagic had worn out by this point and i was just Done, sooo that's all the maimai scores for today . sorry ;w;

BUT!!! it's not all the PERFORMAI scores for today, because i immediately moved onto CHUNITHM for the rest of my gaming sesh!!! and while my arms were super tired and numb from maimai anyways, i got quite a few good scores that boosted my rating back up to 16.30!!! ...and then back down to 16.29 because stupid game counts DANGER skill fails towards recents somehow . fuckin Hate recents . but ah well, an SSS FC on Hibana [ULTIMA Lv.14] and an SS on BlythE & We Gonna Journey [both ULTIMA Lv.14+] is no small feat either! plus the super lucky SSS on ZEUS that got me to the aforementioned 16.30 rating!!! (tried my hardest to get the SS on World Vanquisher [MASTER Lv.15] but while it did give me a slight rating boost, i gave up on it later and lost rating thanks to it too . Lichtschutze giveth and Lichtschutze taketh away)

jubeat chart requests except they're all very lame and ridiculously hard and maybe i should lower my chart request borders except people were suggesting 10s when i specified max 9.x charts so i don't even know dude)

aaaand the last of the iidx scores for today... more 11 ECs suggested by my good cool (hah) buddy Maya!!! they're so tough... i can barely even AA- them... but i guess that just comes with playing more 11s . maybe someday soon.,..

aaaaand that's all for the sesh today!!! not bad at all, though i wish i could leave maimai to a later time so i'd have a bit more line freedom and a bit more energy to tackle the other games... was gonna revisit with that mindset the following day, but parents made plans for a visit to Oregon soooo i'm tagging along with them and skipping out on arcade day!!! (friend got sick anyways so no one made it the next day, ah well,,,)

May 23rd, 2025 - EZ2ON, Arcaea, DDR EXTREME, jubeat Ave., ITG, PIU 2024 PHOENIX

even MORE ez2on gaming to kick off the day!!! this time catching one of Okomecloud's streams and playing in the EZ2ON lobby there, very fun to goof off in both 8S and 6S modes (varies by song and difficulty spread) :]

looking back on it, the series of events today was wacky . i planned to head to campus late but not too late and ended up missing the earliest trains Twice, so i tragically missed any chance of attending the J-Music or FGC club sessions that day and was only able to make it out to an arcade in the end... but all that really mattered on the way there were the scores i got -- of which there's plenty to share!! wasn't really expecting any notable scores while i was at it, but it was truly notable scores galore!!! TEmPTaTiON [FTR-10+] 9900 -> 9960 (!!!), Divine Light of Myriad [FTR-10+] 9932 -> 9956, GLORY : ROAD [FTR-10] 9960 -> 9974, and MORNINGLOOM [ETR-9+] NEAR-PM!!!! just one miss away... tragic...

but now, for the big one!!! the arcade!!! had to eat first (which is where some of the scores take place) but was ready to Game as soon as i walked into the place, and i warmed up with a teensy bit of DDR EXTREME PRO, getting an FC on SYNCHRONIZED LOVE(Red Monster Hyper Mix) [Heavy 8] before playing some jubeat just to be sure that the food went down... and that's when i got hooked on securing the FC on one particular chart: Come to Life [ADV 8]... and after chokes galore, it happened!!! my first FC on an 8 in jubeat!!! on one of my favorite DDR songs ever!!! spent the rest of my credit just playing random whatever charts before moving onto the next game...

...ITG!!! prob should've mentioned that the arcade was slightly booming with peeps, and so i got to play with a fellow super cool local and set some awesome scores while i was at it!!! got a sweet 17e FEC on 8bit Princess [SH 8], plus several more miscellaneous scores on stuff like Just Accept [SX 11] and PUSH UR T3MPRR [SX 11], where i managed to pull out a star after a few tries!!!

then i moved onto another cab where i saw Extremely funny stamina charts of otherwise normal pop songs and almost managed to FEC one in particular!!! (that being Moves Like Jagger [SH11]) . i guess i also technically cleared the SX14 and then I Want It That Way [SH12] while i was at it...

unfortunately had to rush back home after all that gaming, but not before one last PIU set where i got a neat little sightread on Deca Dance S18 before getting a very nice AAA upscore on Blazing S20!!! prob could've done better if i'd spent my time earlier playing pump, but ah well! satisfying session, hopefully i can come back sometime stronger and with way better scores :]

and finally, on a non-arcaea note for the first time in a very long while... we have some awesome arcade scores at The Nest !!!!! started off with some jubeat to warm up my sense of rhythm, but notably this was on an all-new version never once posted to this account before... jubeat Ave.!!! the version after jubeat festo!!! woohoo!!! that's another version to the individual version side-post!!!

quickly switched over to ITG that though, where i tried for upscores on some lesser-played charts and difficulty categories (thus hindering my ITL2025 progress), and it was here where i got the bright idea of trying to get my first quad on any chart, though specifically Chewingood!!! [MD 7]... only to choke it TWICE with a single Excellent and a special "you tried" message for my troubles

blowing off steam on a misinputed PIU credit to showcase BEDLAM D20 and also to play a randomly recommended D21 (that being Nostalgia by WOODY) and somehow clearing it!!! just have to reclear it on my own card now...

finishing off the credit with a few more sick ITG clears (though with subpar FA+ score) and getting my first clear on a 14 since ITL2023!!!

April 6th, 2025 - maimai PRiSM, CHUNITHM SUN PLUS, Groove Coaster, jubeat Ave., Dance Evolution, REFLEC BEAT, WACCA Plus, Arcaea (2/2)

WE'RE BACK!!! turns out i played more than i could handle with a single post, and so this post is likely going to reach that same image limit, but we'll see how far we can get... but for now!!! as you might notice by the title of the post, our new never-before-seen game on this account is... REFLEC BEAT!!! my first time playing the game, and it's all to fulfill the challenge of playing conflict/FLOWER in every possible rhythm game as mentioned in last post!!! scores will be way later down, but stay tuned for the ultimate beginner reflec beat set of a lifetime...

very split up due to queue wait times, but here's six scores between and after all the miscellaneous scores above!!! ...mostly just so i don't have to create entirely new image blocks for each of the sets (lol) . but as i was playing Expert charts and racking up rating, i was starting to think... "wait, 12k rating might be possible?? potentially??? i'm getting a lot of rating from these new version songs, after all... what if i make that my goal for this session?" and so, despite not originally intending to stay for so long, i made it my goal to reach the coveted 12k rating and be granted the glamorous Poop (bronze) rating border... current rating: 11932 . 68 remain.

BACK TO THE OTHER GAMES!!! once again trying to play conflict/FLOWER in every rhythm game, and i set my sights on three other games -- Groove Coaster, jubeat, and Dance Evolution!!! Groove Coaster in particular was pretty impressive as i managed to get 1 miss on the whole chart (though i also missed an AD-LIB technically), and i really wanted to get the FC... but i couldn't close it out unfortunately :[ ah well, next time for sure!!

AND NOW, FOR THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR... REFLEC BEAT!!! IN REAL!!!! GAHHHHH I'VE BEEN WANTING TO PLAY THIS GAME FOR SO LONG AND I FINALLY COULD!!! VOLZZA 2 was the version on display here (good, cause reflesia sucks) and so i was super happy to experience this version in its true, original glory... because oh my GOD was this game a ton of fun . was still getting used to the controls for this first set and kinda ate shit, but hey!! i FC'ed my first chart ever (albeit a 5)!! that counts for something!!!

and now, we prepare for the conclusion of the day and the closure of the arcade . it was getting late, i'd gotten my fair share of other rhythm games, but i was still yet to achieve my final rating goal for maimai! and i couldn't leave until i finally got it!! so while i waited for the queue to keep moving and for my turn to arrive, i played a bit of chunithm and set some VERY impressive scores, including a NEAR-AJ (1 attack FC) on FLOWER [ULTIMA 14]!!! it could've been my first 14 AJ!!! wahhhhhh,,,, but hey!!! combined with a sick 1006 SS+ on B100d Hunter [MASTER 14+], i gained +0.02 rating from those two to reach 16.29!!! that's a win in my book!!

but after that set was my turn to get up there and play maimai for what seemed like the last set of the night... it was either make or break here, and i had no idea how i was gonna get 68 rating with all my new version rating slots already full, but i was determined regardless... and with the miracle play that was Divide et impera! [EXPERT 12+] (of which i didn't take the full score but it was a 99.20% SS trust), i GOT IT!!! BRONZE/POOP RATING!!!! and to celebrate, i played Ultimate taste [MASTER 13+] and got a pretty good score ngl!!! S rank doable... (ohyeah also conflict in WACCA lol too lazy to give it its own block)

and for the last set of the day... a very quick and desperate attempt to play CHUNITHM just before the arcade closed -- mainly just to get rating because why else would i play Disruptor Array [EXPERT 14+] over the Master? there were only like 5 minutes until the arcade closed and i tried cranking out the scores needed to boost my rating, which i did!!! ...with yet another 1-miss, that is . but hey, i still got the max rating boost from the song, and i reached 16.31!!! things were looking up until... the arcade closed. the cab shut off during my third song, and the scores were never able to be saved . it was tragic, truly tragic, and i will forever lament the loss of this beautiful SSS lost to time. maybe some day i'll be able to recreate this success with more time, but that was it for the week and the session... who knows when i'll get to try again?

January 25th, 2025 - pop'n 17, PIU 2024 PHOENIX, SDVX IV, jubeat festo, Arcaea

IIIIIT'S NEST DAY!!!! just as i was heading off to sleep last night, i was that a nest freeplay night was happening for the first time in a while... and that it'd start in the afternoon!!! having finally recovered from my sickness and needing to record a few PIU videos for an upcoming (as of writing this) collab, i made it out the house and onward to the scene as soon as i finished my homework for the day... it was finally time to GAME to my heart's content!!! and once i arrived, i got to work immediately on a seemingly abandoned credit of pop'n!!! ...nice, i guess? kind of an anticlimactic start to the night, but i greeted and chatted up some friends there in between my dancing around and slamming of buttons!!

not much else happened -- played a set of DDR EXTREME (and passed PSMO with only 3/4 life left) and met the cutest most awesomest adorable dog there, but once the cab freed up and no one else was in line... i got straight to work on my PIU goals for the day!! finally cleared BOOOM!! D19 after forever, sightread TG AAA+ on Break THrough Myself feat. Risa Yuzuki D20, and after that... the PUPA grind began!!! i'll be able to link the collab here (and in the post of the day) once its up, but just know it's super hype and i'm in it thrice...! the goal was to record an FC of the highest level you could possibly do, but i was limited to the S17 and D16 of PUPA as i wasn't anywhere near consistent enough for the S19 and D21... but shortly after a first try clear on Jupin - SHORT CUT - D20 and an FC on both PUPA S17 and D16, i ate my words and managed to get not just a new D21 clear, but an S on the chart!!!! first try, baybeeee!!!!

and now for the last of the scores... i know i know, it was super short, but it was (alas) kinda on me as i arrived late and picked the game with the biggest, slowest-moving line (thanks to premium mode)... so to make up for it, here's three miscellaneous score photos across the SDVX IV and jubeat festo cabs available there!!! i've been enlightened with the funny owl skil/theming, will be using it from here on out once i can get back into my account...

and the last of the scores in general!! not as impressive or necessary as the scores i just demonstrated (even jubeat), but hey! an upscore is an upscore, especially on a chart as strict, difficult, and frustrating as eden [FTR-10]...

more early morning upscores for world mode, more gaming! a PM on Let you DIVE! (nitro rmx) (FTR-9, MAX-48) as FTR PM #32 (still legit the worst song in the game)... a 1-2 on conflict [FTR-10] somehow, and an EX+ on Macrocosmic Modulation [FTR-9+] finally...

after my classes and having nothing better to do, my friend really gets the urge to go play chunithm at the local arcade. i follow since i have the membership there, and we were set to have a pretty good time! ...almost. when we got there, the chunithm cab was unfortunately offline and we couldn't use our cards, which my friend was semi-pissed about (the cab here tends to go offline a lot). i, on the other hand, saw this as an opportunity to briefly pick jubeat back up after neglecting it for a while. and it was pretty good! the S rank on AIR RAID FROM THA UNDAGROUND ADV-9.7 was insane no idea how i did that

kinda got bored after that though, so we decided to take turns on the chunithm cab and grind for whichever master chart we wanted to play while delusionally waiting for the cab to come back online (it didn't). still, i got some good scores that i hope to replicate once it truly does come back online! (i'll get you someday on my account, contrapasso -inferno- SS...)

February 27th, 2024 - jubeat festo, CHUNITHM PARALOST

did some interviews for an article for my school's newspaper, and tried going to the local arcade to get another interview for a different article! unfortunately though, nerves got to me and i ended up just playing chunithm in silence before leaving. chunithm was offline too, so the real game being played was jubeat (so close to the RPG ADV-6 FC)... and maybe just a little bit of chunithm to keep my skills in check.

November 30th, 2023 - Arcaea, CHUNITHM PARALOST, jubeat festo

WACCA PART 2 UPDATE IS HERE!!!! and me really wanting luin, i gamed with the new tracks in world mode. my favorite chart so far is Ouverture of course, super fun to follow and not as confusing as the other ones

since there was a complete internet outage in my city, i stayed at my college until it was time... to go to the arcade there and play chuni!!! only, they've been busy moving some stuff around, so unfortunately the chuni cab was offline... but no matter, because i played it offline and somehow got a SIGHTREAD S RANK ON A NEW-SCALE 15

got three other really good scores as well! those being an almost-FC on enjou expert, an S rank normal clear on its master, and a 988k S on yakumo joint struggle ! (impossible chart)

and just when i thought i was free, it turns out i forgot my portable charger's bag at the arcade and had to go back an hour later to pick it up again... but i played a teensy bit of jubeat while i was there! (i'm so bad at this game)

one more score: certified arcaea moment (can't wait to get an iphone...)
