November 21st, 2025 (1/2) - DJMAX, osu!mania, DJMAX
rollercoaster of a day today what the hell . so today was an open house day for my local arcade, but today was ALSO the big grand incredible livestream of the long-awaited... heavily-anticipated... holy grail of modern rhythm gaming... ARCAEA NEXT STAGE!!! (featuring HARDCORE TANO*C) . i haven't been Too big on this game until recently, but i played when the game first released and have picked it up in full force ever since i got my new phone, and it's been history ever since . so even though i couldn't watch amusement music fes 2025 or the EDP x beatnation Records livestreams... i was gonna watch this no matter what.
but alas! since it's in japan and i'm watching it through a livestream, i have to wait practically the whole day to watch it, and that meant killing time and doing Whatever until the show began . the obvious answer here would be to do some homework, but procrastination opportunities from myself and some new rhythm gaming friends (along with preparations for an upcoming DJMAX tournament) had... Other plans . so despite the opportune moment to get on the study grind... i spent the whole day achievement hunting and playing in multi lobbies in DJMAX!!! to "train my accuracy" or whatever goofy excuse i can come up with... this time gunning for the V EXTENSION 3 MAX COMBO achievement and picking up stuff like Perfect Plays on Bambi - DJMAX Edit - [4BSC 7*], Charming World [4BSC 4*], Moment (feat. Nauts) [4BSC 8*], Secret [4BSC 4*], Set Me Free [4BSC 6*], Space Dream (feat. J.O.Y) [4BSC 3*], and STEP [4BSC 7*], before ultimately giving up after seeing that i had to FC Zero-Break to get the achievement (and quickly realizing i could not FC any of the SC charts, nor could i perfect any of the MX charts)
oh right, and NOW it's time for the online matches with some latino djmax friends i was talking about!!! i was going in strong to our lobby, looking forward to some nice practice matches to gauge the competition and know what i was up against... only to find out that i was a Liiiiittle over their skill level, what with getting a sightread Perfect Play on ZET [4BSC 7*] while they failed an S on the 4BHD 10* . this sounds incredibly conceited and i apologize for that but Y'know!!! Big tournament!!! have to be prepared for what comes, but i kindaaaa don't know what to expect with this competition...
nevertheless, we move! got an FC on SuperSonic [6BSC 7*], a near-Perfect on Y ~Extended Mix~ [6BSC 8*], aaaaand then a mixture of other random whatever scores that aren't notable enough for me to talk about but rest assured they're all really cool and good practice worthy of being here anyways!! god this lobby went on Way longer than it should've, i'm gonna have to make a separate post for the arcade open house since djmax ate up all the image slots i could've placed in here... but ah well, practice is practice i guess !
oh, and i might as well throw these into this post while we're on PC games... osu!mania!!! trying to run back attempts on BABY LAUGH JERSEY FUNK with my 4K warmup for the day and failing miserably, but i got to show off some of this game's chaos in the process (and instead getting two random Hush Hush achievements in the process)
