Spawn cult hierarchy + Amarah headcanons!!
In the Spawn cult, there are different ranks based on your devotion in the cult.
The ranks (from lowest to highest):
Follower- Just a simple follower of the Spawn. There isn't anything important/special with them. Anyone that joins the cult or is born into the cult automatically joins the Follower rank. Those in this rank cannot leave the village the cult's in at all.
Devotee- Kinda similar to the Follower, however they get more rights/privileges.
One of these privileges is that they can leave the village for a few hours, but they need to be accompanied by an Acolyte or a High Priest/High Priestess.
Disciple- Devoted students/assistants of an Acolyte. Often seen with an Acolyte from their respective division. They are like an Acolytes teaching assistant, helping them and subbing in for them when they aren't available.
Acolyte- They are kind of like the teachers. Those in this rank separated into different divisions to go and teach. For example an Acolyte could get sorted into the Child Teaching division, and as the name suggests, they teach children ranging from the ages 4-12 about the Spawn.
Acolytes can leave the cult unattended for long periods of time.
High Priest/High Priestess- The second highest rank in the cult. They are highly respected and regarded in the cult due to the ones in this rank being seen as the Leader's right hand. They pretty much do whatever the Leader tells them to. They also can indoctrinate others into the cult, something the lower ranks cannot do. They are also allowed to leave the cult for long periods of time.
Leader- As the rank suggests, they are the leader of the cult. They can do about anything they please.
Additional ranks that aren't formally seen as an actual rank:
Outsiders- These people are only loosely connected to the cult.
Sponsors- These are people who aren't formally part of the cult that knows the Leader well. They are seen as the Leader's close circle of friends/acquaintances.
There are ways for Followers to rise up to the higher ranks, some of these ways is to continually prove your devotion to the cult, do multiple tasks that a High Priest or an Acolyte would give you, or to sacrifice someone close to you.
However, someone can rise up to the Disciple rank by being chosen by an Acolyte. This also applies to a Disciple being chosen by a High Priest/High Priestess to become an Acolyte.
For an Acolyte to rise up to High Priest/High Priestess, it's required for them to sacrifice someone. This is a requirement since it "shows your real devotion". When an Acolyte rises up the rank, their spot is open for any of their Disciples to become an Acolyte.
- Amarah was born into the cult, being a child of an Acolyte (male) and a High Priestess (female).
- When he was young, he was highly respected among his peers, mostly due to how quickly he rose up the ranks.
- When he was 14 years old, he was already an Acolyte, the youngest one in the cult.
- At 16, he wanted to rise up to become a High Priest.
- Of course, this would mean that he would have to sacrifice someone to the Spawn.
- He went to his mother for advice, and she told him to sacrifice his father.
- Amarah, justifiably, had a difficult time wrapping his head around sacrificing his own father.
- However, he would end up doing it and he would rise up the rank to become a High Priest, one of the youngest ones in the cult.
- When he was 18, he would take in Two Time as his own child. (This would be during the time Two Time's mother had been sacrificed)
- Amarah wasn't really sure as to why he took them in, but I guess he felt some sort of pity for the small child
- Around the age of 20, Amarah started to feel his faith in the Spawn waver. Of course, he just ignored those feelings and repented whenever he felt like he was losing faith.
- After Two Time went missing, while he didn't fully lose his faith, he was definitely questioning it.
- After a while of Two Time being gone, he felt the want to leave the Spawn cult, but he chose to stay until Two Time popped up again so the two could leave together.
- Amarah is bisexual! He was even in a relationship (or situationship?) with one of the cult members (male) when he was about 16. However, since the Spawn cult is homophobic as shit, the two had to end it before anyone else found out.
- Because of this, Amarah was worried when, 1. Two Time came out as non-binary, and 2. When Two Time started to date Azure. Of course, he supported both their new gender identity and relationship, but he couldn't brush off the feeling of worry.
- Amarah is highly gifted in multiple skills, most notably cooking and gymnastics/yoga.
- Amarah's full name is Amarah Blackthorne!
- If Amarah had escaped the cult when he was younger or was never born into the cult, he would either work as a yoga instructor or teacher.
- Amarah never really liked children. After adopting Two Time, he still didn't really like children, but he learned to tolerate them.
- Amarah never fully isolated Two Time from others in the cult, but he did keep them away from those who would be a bad influence to them.
- He was initially suspicious of Azure, especially since they were a newer member of the cult and still seemed to not fully embrace the cult's doctrine.
- If you can't tell already, Amarah is quite protective over Two Time. It's gotten to the point where he's quite controlling over them. He still tries to give them some freedom though.
- If Azure never joined the cult/got into a relationship with Two Time and Two Time had to sacrifice someone to become a High Priest/High Priestess, Amarah would let Two Time sacrifice him, fully accepting his death (something something parells to how Amarah killed his own father something something)
- Amarah enjoyed taking care of Two Time, mostly with brushing, washing, and playing with their hair.
- Amarah keeps little trinkets and such that gets stored in this little jewelry chest in his bedroom (he 100% has a rock collection)
- Adding onto the last headcanon, he's a bit of a hoarder. He usually keeps gifts that he's given (even if he doesn't like them/will never use them) and other little trinkets he gets from Two Time.
- I feel like Amarah is like a hybrid of sorts, but for the life of me I cannot pick what type of hybrid he is.
Oh awww I love it when people view Amarah as a genuinely trying to be good person…
this hierarchy is really well planned!
And how amarah would wait for two time to return so they can both escape :((( WAHHHHHH THATS SO SAD
I think maybe they’d be a bug of sorts… like a praying mantis maybe… I remember spiders are known for consuming their mates or whatever, maybe that’d fit two time more idk…
I love this open minded, willing to learn version of amarah! I hate this stanky homophobic cult.
you cooked up a five star headcanon! I love this. Absolute cinema.
