The fridge hums like it knows our secret a low, electric witness to bare feet sliding across tile still sticky from yesterday's mistakes

You pull me by the wrist like gravity chose you instead of the moon and suddenly I'm orbiting

We don't know the song or maybe there isn't one just the rhythm of breath and the soft percussion of cabinets we almost crash into

Your hair smells like sleep and something sweeter something I can't name without ruining it

We laugh too loud then quieter then not at all

Foreheads pressed together like we're trying to share a thought or steal one

The clock blinks 3:07 3:08 like it's keeping score or how long we can stay here before morning finds us guilty

And for a moment just one fragile, flickering moment

The past shuts up the future forgets us and it's just this
