3D Immersive CAVE

DIVA (Discovery & Innovation through Visual Analytics) lab develops visual analytics tools which are used to discover patterns in complex biomedical datasets and to enhance biomedical decision-making. This 3-D network visualization was used with the discovery of a new pattern related to renal diseases. 2-D visualizations were developed utilizing the same dataset, but the discovery was missed in the 2-D visualization. The 3-D visualization tool proved to be more useful for examining the vast amount of information in this case. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a close-up image of this visualization. Nonetheless, I find this sort of exploratory tool to be quite interesting.
