Today was mostly me relaxing. I got little to do in preparation for election day or the Board meeting next week so I slept in – glorious feeling truly – and then went for a shopping/ladies trip with my bestie. It was great. I bought a couple new water colours and glued magnets onto my half pans so that I can use a metal pencil case I already have for my pallet. Very handy. Also, yes I had 30-40 strong small flat neodymium magnets at home just hanging around. I had them for years with the knowledge that I'll use them for a project or two. Well XD
I've did the priming for a small painting for SO's mum's birthday next week. She's going to get an autumn landscape because she loves red and gold and dark brown (those are the colours in her living room). I'm going to try and not plan this painting in detail. I'm curious how it'll work out.
After the art shop we went for a tea with my bestie. We ended up talking a lot about mixing colours and painting. The tea house does little exhibitions of art all the time, and we talked a bit about the paintings on display – lovely messy acrylic paintings. In the end I invited my bestie over for an acrylics painting session. She's loving water colours but she has trouble thinking with negative space (holy stars, me too) but I think she'll enjoy acrylics and I have all the stuff at home so she can try it out. Plus this will be great quality time, relax and bonding. I am so looking forward to it.
