I don't know if it's worth trying to be emotionally open and honest with C. It feels extremely challenging. I gave it a good go tonight on the telephone, 2 hours 45 mins of addressing her resentment the past 4 years. At least expressing any further sniping or pass agg comments only causes distance and strain. She may well continue of course, she said she would try but it might happen. And I guess I know that means it will be a restriction and there's nothing more I can do about that. It does make me feel bad but there we go. I know I am trying to keep the door open and she is too its just her tendency to be a control freak and to hold on to her irritation might make it impossible.
