50 years ago automatic chronographs were well-accepted... Remember the first automatic chronographs were worn onboard Skylab space station during the 84 days long Skylab-4 mission between November 1973 and February 1974. Indeed, besides the Seiko 6139-6005 worn by SL-4 pilot William Pogue, SL-4 Commander Gerald Carr wore a Movado HS360 automatic chronograph. Less known is the fact that the Movado Datron with its "El Primero" caliber 3019 PHC movement was worn by many NASA engineers !
