Day 30 - Anything SPN related.
Ahhhhh, seriously? That's the last day? I simply can't believe it!
I loved this "challenge" and I didn't want it to have an end. Really. But, all the good things come to a full-stop, right? And that's what happened here.
As for the last day, I leave you all with the best opening ever of all series (and ending). I love (and I think every SPN fan loves too) this music and when they play this song I feel whether relieved or sad, it depends if it's end of a season or beginning of one.
Sadly, Supernatural is coming to an end and I simply can't imagine this. It's the first series I started following every week, and watching in both versions "subtitled" and "dubbed".
It's not my favorite series (don't kill me, but The Originals holds this position in my heart, mainly because I do love vampires and Klaus and Elijah of course) but it'll ever have a special place in my heart. For uncountable reasons I'm not going to mention here.
Supernatural is much more (far much more) than simply a series about supernatural things (oh, really? but it's in the name hehe), is about family and family means everything.
I feel that nowadays, so many families are falling apart for so many reasons (mainly the stupid ones) and when I watch Sam and Dean and of course Bobby and Cass (remember, family is not only blood and Bobby and Cass has proven us it) it's magical. They fight, they argue, they almost kill each other, but they are always there when the other needs.
And that's family. It's not to have the perfect life (which, I'm sorry to tell the ones who are not aware of it, doesn't exist) but make it as much as good as possible. It's to fight against your family, but mainly fight for your family.
Actually, I don't think it's a particularity of Supernatural series, but of CW series in general. If you think of Damon and Stefan and Elijah and Klaus. hahahaha It's so much worse if you think about their fights once they "can't die".
But well... let's get back to Supernatural.
It's also funny, sad sometimes. And it brings so many characteristics of modern life and struggles I can't even mention all of them here. However, I can and I feel that I must mention the "changes".
Life is full of changes and the one who doesn't change - and here you can put change opinions, change feelings and everything you can think of - is left behind.
Dean represents theses changes in my opinion. He was the black and white guy, And suddenly he became the "gray" guy (in our lives there's aways a space for 50 shades of gray hahahahaha sorry again). But on top of that, Dean is the protector and there's a protector in each one of us. Sometimes it's more noticeable, strong than in others. But we all have something we want and must protect. Be it a person, an animal or even our dreams.
Sam is the listener. The counselor. He's always helping people (Dean does the same, but it's different with Sam). Sometimes, I think Dean is so into this thing of "saving people, hunting things, family business", he forgets inside each of us there's a monster ready to destroy us. And with Sam it's different. It's clear in the cases we see them acting together. Dean is more worried about hunting the monster, while Sam take a moment to listen people, to help them in other aspect. Sam also has a pure heart. So pure, you can't get mad at him for any longer than in the moment. He has committed a lot of mistakes, but and what? Who doesn't? What matters, in my opinion of course, is that he's done it all because he believed it was right. Who has never done something terribly wrong thinking it was for the best?
We also have Cass... He's the innocent. Just like Sam, he has done so many wrong in things in his journey, but he has done it all because he believe it was right thing to do. And c'mon it's easier to get mad at Sam and Dean than at Cass, right? He's the cutest character ever.
And when it comes to mistakes, I can't say Dean hasn't committed any mistakes, he had done it a lot. But I think Sam and Cass' mistakes are in a way more visible. But if stop to think, Dean has done terribly things all these seasons. He has interfered a lot in Sam's life and we can also mention Cass. I know, I know, I know... He has done it because he love both of them. C'mon they're his family and it's natural for a protector to protect his loved ones, right? Yeah, it may be right if you only think of Dean's point of view as we usually do, but what about Sam? What about Cass? Can't they make their own choices? What I'm trying to say is "why do we always forgive Dean's mistakes so easily and we can't do the same when it comes to Sam?
I could describe the characteristics of every single character that appeared in these 9 seasons, but it would get too extensive and I don't think I would remember all of them ;)
I'm sorry I already philosophized a lot here. I just wanted to say how much I loved this "Supernatural challenge" and no matter what happens, and that's not my favorite series, it will always have a place in my heart.
