30 Day Jaime Challenge Day Twenty Nine
Rant about things that frustrate you about Jaime
His co-dependence and his cruelty.
Ugh, I want to shake Jaime Lannister with his co-dependence. He’s a knight that has been a pawn all of his life. He’s willingly let everyone around him manipulate him for their use, be it his family or his King.
I’ve always felt that Jaime’s cruelty is not essentially Jaime. There’s a difference between being a warrior and being a killer. What he did to Aerys was for the good of all but what he did to Bran was cruelty. I think because he’s so much not like Tywin, that Tywin could see his weak father in Jaime, that Jaime’s love has been systematically twisted in to this cruelty. That a way to keep him towing the line was to appeal to this protective instinct that Jaime has and instill in him a fear of constant threat to what he holds dear.
