Art & Hue presents Supermodels, stylish pop art illustrations of iconic cover girls, including the ultimate fashion model Linda Evangelista. Widely regarded as THE supermodel, Linda Evangelista was already a successful fashion model whose career went stratospheric once her hair was cut by Julien d’Ys. The mod-style crop was called “The Linda” and was to be followed by many different hair styles, and colours – from brown to blonde to fiery red, each season showed a different aspect of the model’s versatility. Linda is one of the original “big five” fashion models who were photographed on the streets of New York by the visionary photographer Peter Lindbergh. That 1989 image became the cover of the January 1990 issue of British Vogue and heralded the birth of the supermodel. The five models on the iconic cover were seen by George Michael who asked them to appear in the video for “Freedom 90” and introduced supermodels to MTV audiences globally. Along with Naomi & Christy, Linda was part of what became known as “The Trinity” – the three widely-recognised fashion models of the supermodel era. Linda showed modelling was an art form, not just collaborating with but also inspiring designers and stylists – no wonder she has appeared on over 700 magazine covers worldwide. Still modelling, on catwalks and in campaigns, Linda has recently become the face and creative director of a new skincare brand called Erasa (sadly not available outside of America, yet). All pop art prints are available in three sizes and 18 colours, printed on museum-quality archival card of 310gsm, made from 100% cotton, using fine-art pigment inks for longevity. artandhue.com/supers #Supermodels #FashionModels #LindaEvangelista #Freedom90 #30yearsofSupermodels #FashionIllustration #BritishVogue #Vogue #Fashion #interiors #Interiors123 #interiorinspo #houseofevangelista https://www.instagram.com/p/B4HxepoBQrd/?igshid=16yslbd32rzll
