Day 23 - Gender Roles. I can handle most things that people say about trans people in the media, online, in person... but the idea that because I spent so much time living as a “man” that I’ll forever interact with society as a man - that really hits me in a vulnerable place.

I’m starting this when March is almost over because I do not like posting pictures of myself so I put it off. :P

Anyway, I’m Francis, a 26 year old bisexual nonbinary trans man/demiguy. I use they/them or he/him pronouns. (Also this is VERY hard to type with my kitten climbing on me demanding I pet her RIGHT NOW.)

This is me. From band shirts to my best friend to the time I secretly tried on a suit to the last concert I went to. This is me. This is who I am. I will never let anyone change me again. I am me. I am transgender.

Prompt: Talk about pride. Why are you proud to be trans? How do you show the world your pride? I am proud because I exist and thrive in a world that does not want me to exist. I'm proud because I have overcome a lot. I am proud because I am resilient. Trans people are resilient and it's incredible. I show the world my pride by continuing to live as myself and pursue what I want to pursue in life despite being in a society that does want to see poor, brown trans people exist and thrive.
