nonwhite gender envy/transition goals appreciation :) feel free to add your own!
Instead of paying heed to what a white cis dutch man and transfem chaser has to say about the experiences and existence of transgender men, consider donating to Dem Bois, a non-profit charity that supports trans men and transmasculine people of color.
Dem Bois supported me, a Mestizo trans man, during the covid lock down by sending me a care package that helped me countine in the stuggle of survival.
In addition to care packages, Dem Bois also provide grants for chest reconstruction surgery and genital reconstruction surgery.
This is your daily reminder that trans men are the authority of our existence and that the people who know the most about existing and surviving as a trans man, are in fact, trans men.
So, it you've ever spoken over trans men about our lives, our experiences, our oppression, our community, and our conflicts and realize that you need to make amends for the damages you've done to our community by trying to redact our reality to make it fit in your cisnormative worldview, the donation link is here.
Saw someone using these today trying to be intersexist on another one of my posts 😔😔 had to make this!
(on a post about issues faced as a tmoc) saw this comment and it really hits the spot abt my thoughts on this lol
Genuinely do not understand why non transmascs have so much fucking audacity to speak on OUR experiences as if youve lived them. NO the ONE transmasc friend you have doesnt give you authority to speak on our lived experiences. Especially if theyre white. I keep seeing this phenomenon where someone will say something objectively untrue to generalize the experiences of trans men and mascs and then back it up with the experience and of their one white trans friend and then completely ignore the experience of DOZENS of transmascs in the replies. If youre arguing about any supposed “privilege” we have and you prop up the two white self-identified ‘TME’s’ who chimed in to agree with you while simultaneously ignoring dozens to HUNDREDS of other transmascs (ESPECIALLY tmoc) trying to tell you about their experiences… idk how to tell you that youre just a racist bigot.
Girlz to Men is a documentary about three Black transgender men who share their dynamic experiences via interviews.
Now available to watch on the Trans Guy Archive!
"Transracialphobia - (n.) - Term describing the intersection of transphobia and racism as experienced by transgender people of color."
Ahha, took me too many days but I have found the post where I coined it and the addition made in the transgender dictionary with said definition!
This will be a tag that I hope stay primarily trans people of color talking about their experiences, though white users can post in it (as with pretty much any tag) if it's relevant to the topic at hand.Overall though I want this to be a spot where trans voices of color can speak up and be found, and also find each other in these talks.
Relevent does not include: Using poc as an example where no one asked and isn't actually about us!!
