Joe Cale & Pete Valenti Barbershop by Mat Marrash Via Flickr: Still alive and well, the Barbershops Project picks back up today, right where it left off! Today we visit a very neat, simple barbershop on 19th street in the downtown area of Niagara Falls, NY. Pete (left) and Joe (right) have been cutting hair for a combined 80 years of barbering, these guys know their stuff! I was lucky enough to catch them both busy as ever, and chat a little about why I like these older shops so much. After capturing yesterday's image, while starting to tear down the camera, I noticed this delightful little barber chair b/t the two bigger chairs. I tried for nearly 20 minutes to get the composition right, but to no avail. Just when I'd given up hope, Pete Valenti's grandson came in to visit, so we plopped him up in the chair for a "quick trim".
