Sashiko weaving is the art of japanese weaving in which patches of cloth are placed on top of the damaged piece and then woven in a particular manner with a certain type of thread. The result is beauty beyond the broken. Here's an example of what a biddy of mine did with his back pocket. He joined a fade competition using a pair of the country's finest selvedge denim. A work of art from a true hardworking blue blood.
