I'm so glad you typed Burr from Hamilton as a 3. Most people type him as a 9 because he avoids confrontation and doesn't take actions for his dreams unlike Hamilton. But on the second act of the musical we can see him growing more into his 3ness. i honestly can see the first act as Burr plainly disintegrating. 369 makes a lot of sense for him too btw. In your post you said this tritype was the bermuda triangle... i don't understand the comparison. What does it mean?
The guys over at Enneagrammer think the tritype names are too positive, which means people are picking what seems most flattering (who wouldn’t want to be “The Solution Master” or “The Philosopher” or “The Seeker” for example) rather than facing the brutal truth of the tritypes, so tongue in cheek, they decided to create more accurate names for the tritypes.
369 is the Bermuda Triangle because things and people and especially, the Self of the person with that tritype, disappear into it. It has three types prone to reflective (reflecting what you admire/want) behaviors, over-focus on other people, and blocking of inwardness, because the 3 becomes whatever it needs to succeed and/or blend in with their friends and peers, 6 chooses logic over emotion for safety’s sake, and the 9 can see all sides to everything and bleeds into the other fixes. So you have a person a lot like Burr, whom nobody is really sure who they are due to his secretiveness, his hesitance about putting himself out there, his willingness to change sides as a way to get ahead, and the overall confusion surrounding his sense of identity. From an inside place, it would look like confusion as to who I am, sort of a “blur,” and bouncing between all three fixes due to the fact that they all integrate or disintegrate into each other.
IE, is this person a 6 moving to 3 because they are stressed or do they just use 3 all the time (fear of failure, hard-working)? When they get peaceful, are they moving to 9 out of growth patterns or is that just part of their personality? Is the 9 becoming anxious and falling into 6 or is the 6 always there? Is the 3 moving to 9 apathy out of fear of not succeeding or is the 9 there causing trouble? It’s a circle of semi-confusion and haze.
The thing I am learning about 9 as a fix is the ‘blurring of self’ and/or the haziness it casts over an individual identity. It tends to merge not only with other people to get along, but with your own fixes, so the 369 is vague and hard to pin down, a sort of inner vanishing and even people seeing different sides of the same person -- like the Bermuda Triangle. (Because of this, I suspect, the 369 will have lots of trouble identifying themselves as a 369 and possibly also the inability to find their MBTI type for sure. 6-9 as a combo settles on something and then leaps up to re-analyze it, because 9 sees another side it didn’t consider before, and the 3 may be mirroring the traits it thinks it has, so as to put up a convincing argument.)
I should also mention there will likely be a lot of emotional numbness with this type, since 6 ignores feelings for logic, 9 numbs self to emotions to avoid pain, and 3 ignores their feelings and/or is out of touch with them -- so the 369 will be adaptable at integrating into a new environment and finding ways to identify with other people but not be in touch with their own emotions at all.
