This is the first time I have used the journal Xylo’zol gave me as something to write in. I hope this will prove to be a good pass time and a chance to reflect on each days happenings.
It was roughly around one in the afternoon here in Icecrown, the Tournament Grounds, when I was sitting beside the Alliance’s pavilion taking in the frosty air when Vaess approached me. She seemed surprised that I was here at the tournament, which I admitted surprised me as well. I’m not happy the Horde is here as well, but I have to just accept that they are here like they were in Vashj’ir.
I tried to make a joke about paying that bill she handed to Melwyn.
...I am not very good at jokes, it seems.
I had to ask why everyone was so angry with her, she bade me follow her a little farther from the main path away from the arena so she could sit and explain.
I was confused as she told me her reasons for being scorned seemed to stem from her different beliefs regarding the Goddess, her own way to follow her. She proceeded to make herself more upset until she finally asked what she was supposed to do, regarding being shunned from the rest of the Glaive.
I panicked, I’ll admit… I handed her my cards since I didn’t have an answer ready for her at all. Luckily that made her pause and calm down while she took her time to shuffle the deck.
For her I pulled the Queen of Cups, reversed Eight of Swords, and the Eight of Wands.
I’m glad my reading seemed to help her feel better… Then she gave me a small pouch of gold to only open until after she left. She really didn’t seem as though she would let me refuse it if I had tried further, I didn’t want to upset her again, so I took it.
Taking it makes me feel guilty. She gave me too much and I didn’t do a thing to earn it. I don’t think I’d be able to hand it off to someone else - that would just make me feel worse and someone from the Glaive would likely wonder about it and I’d receive a lecture for talking to her.
Oddly enough there wasn’t just gold in the bag, there were also a few candles. I wonder what their purpose is?
