Well first ya take your boy who has a spaghetti stain and make sure everything’s in one layer

Duplicate the layer and then add two new layers above what you just duplicated

Set the new blank layers to “Screen” and turn on “Clipping”

Color the blank layers in with green and pink at the highest saturation

Now combine the colors to their respective layers

Set the top layer to “Multiply” and everything should look normal…

Until you move one layer slightly :0c

And you can do this with pretty much any color as long as they’re on opposite sides of the color wheel! This is also the same method I use to do the Darkiplier 3D effect

♡3D EFFECT TUTORIAL♡

This effect has become pretty popular recently, so it made sense to make a tutorial! This tutorial is actually extremely simple! Keep reading to go to the tutorial.

Step 1. Open up any image you have edited. (Note: If you only want to apply the 3d effect to your sim and not the background, just complete these steps on that single sim layer.)

Step 2. Right click on the layer you want to apply the effect to and select Duplicate Layer, you should have two layers of the same image now.

Step 3. Double click the new layer to open up the Blending Options. All you are going to do here is uncheck the “G” and “B” from the channels option. Click Ok.

Step 4. Select the move tool (or press V on your keyboard). Use your arrow keys to move this layer up, down, left or right. You will start to see the effect. The more you move this layer, the more you will see the effect.

Below are two examples of moving the layers to different spots.

When finished, right click on a layer and choose Flatten image to merge them the layers together. I hope this was helpful!

3D Effect Tutorial (PS CS6)

For this turorial, I used Photoshop CS6. 

(You can find the free CS6 version  is the Helpful Resources section here).

Below is also a gif of me working on this in photoshop.

Pick an image (color or black & white).

Once you’ve chosen your image, open it up with photoshop.

In the layers section, right click your image and click the Duplicate Layer option and press OK.

Next, double click the layer you duplicated and a window should pop up.

In the Advanced Blending section, uncheck the box before the letter ‘R’ and click okay.

Using the left/right buttons, move your image either way until you are satisfied with the image. 

When you’re done with your image, go back to the layers and right click the duplicate. Find and click the option that says ‘Merge Down.’

Ta-dah! You’re almost done. All that’s left is to save your image. (File, then Save As!) 

*Be sure to save it as JPEG or PNG if your image has transparent sections, not as a Photoshop (PSD) file.*

how did you color your icon ??? :)

This icon?

It’s actually just a super simple 3D effect.

I’ll put a tutorial under the cut for ya, nonnie.

First you take the picture you want and make an icon. Color the cap/image however you like normally. For mine that you asked about, I messed around with the levels, upped the contrast and then the vibrance, and then overlayed a purpley-grey layer and then decreased its opacity. 

Here’s my icon for this tutorial icon (I have a thing with his mouth, okay?)

Next you’re going to flatten the image. right click on bottom layer and select the option at the bottom.

Once we have one layer we’re going to duplicate it. 

After that you click on the copied layer (it should be on top) and go to blending options. Once there you’re going to go the the “Channels” option in the middle and uncheck the boxes that say G and B

Then click ok and select the move tool. You’re going to move that top layer just a few pixels either to the right of left (I just hit the right arrow key on my arrowpad like 3-4 times)

And voila, you’ve got it. All thats left to do is resize it to 100x100 and you've got yourself a super cool icon.

It also works really well with back & white icons/images, like this one

3D Effect Tutorial

First off, open up your image.

Now duplicate the image. Set your foreground color to a shade of red of your choice (I would use a bright shade) and your background color to white (#000000). Go up to Colors<Map<Gradient Map. Your image should now be red toned. Shift it any way you like. I'm going to move mine two times to the left. Place this layer on darken only.

Next, go back to the original image and duplicate the layer again. Switch your foreground color to a medium shade of blue. Now go back to Colors<Map<Gradient Map. This layer should be blue toned. Shift this layer to your preference, I'm going to move it twice to the left. Set the layer on darken only and you are done!
