"𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓?" even from behind kara, the smile on lois's face was clearly audible. warm + familiar. kara brought out a gentleness in lois unique to her ... one so unconditional it transcended speech ---- neither of them much of a 'spill your guts' type.
it was dark out. the large expanse of smallville laid out before them, stars seemingly stretching out forever. there she found kara, sitting on their back porch ... looking up like she could find something.
lois knew better than anyone that kryptonians didn't need to sleep. her gently snoozing husband upstairs seemingly did it for sport, despite feeling chipper at all hours of the day. lois ... she was bad at being human. in a multitude of ways.
when she opens the glass door further, lois is immediately met with the night's cold chill --- something she was ill - equipped for in her t-shirt and shorts. she does, however have a blanket wrapped around her shoulders that grows tighter the more steps she takes forwards.
tentatively, lois ends at her destination, seating herself next to her visitor. wincing at the contact the backs of her thighs make on the chilled patio. she sidles up next to her, opting for more of a side - glance than a full stare. " you're okay kara. and you're getting better every day, even if you don't notice. i notice. " one - handedly, lois pulls half of the blanket over kara's shoulders, even if she didn't need it.
