just discovered a lady from dc comics named fury aka helena kosmatos and she seems cool as hell ... will this become my new brand now, considering i rp helena bertinelli and also helena wayne ... rping all the helenas of the dc comics universe? who's next, helena sandsmark? djskmknds

the cat’s eyes roll. remarkable as it is, she insists on being the tough guy, and yet, hypocritical, she is exasperated with what she perceives as the tough guy. the visage is something that’s read to her as a facade. perhaps it’s those blinders she’s often wearing — no one can be sincere in their statements, a haunting is a haunting even if they won’t verbalize it.

a cigarette swiftly finds itself between ruby red lips and she flips out a zippo from within the lack, hovers before it as lip stain leaves itself ever-present against a filter. the catwoman is laissez-fair where the huntress is tightly wound — for all her anxiety, she is all loose joints and muscles, loose elbows and knees. she exhales in great relief.

“forgive a cat for being nice,” she draws the cigarette in and flips it out again like a charming magic trick, “yeah, you don’t dwell on the past. d’you think it doesn’t dwell on you?”

a snort.

“nobody well-adjusted runs around in the middle of the night with weapons. just making observational conversation.”

“no,” the huntress dry responds, post-haste and sans humour. it’s a miracle she’s humouring this conversation at all, that too with the catwoman of all people — but a smoke break is a smoke break, and nobody will get between her and that, even if it means unanticipated chitchat out in the open, with the ominous circulation of the gothamesque chill all around damn, an irksome contrast to how hot the very same city gets in the daytime. helena’s not sure which time of the day she dislikes more or less.

“living beings dwell, not man-made abstractions,” she elaborates, choosing to remain grounded in the gritty reality around them, that the city presents them. “and don’t bring up ghosts, i don’t care for the paranormal.”

huntress doesn’t get why she ruffles feathers as often as she does when for the most part, she intends to have no connections with anybody outside of her radar. get the job done, get people to safety, get home. a simple to-do list, that is yet routinely interrupted. she keeps herself masked, armoured, geared, caped, and suited for a reason: blend in with the shadows and the night, let her actions speak louder than her reputation — something she doesn’t wish to have, even if enough blood spills to spell out her name in crimson.

“as is your prerogative,” she replies with a quiet exhale of smoke, lit cigarette still balanced between her gloced digits. “try finding one person in this world who’s truly well-adjusted, then you can come back and interrogate me on my arsenal, girlypop.”

just to be clear: when i reply to you, in or out of roleplay, it's not something that happens easily or fast. trust that it's something i open my laptop for, sit down with food and drinks, work into my schedule, maintain my stress levels and concentration, it's something i have 500 tabs on for even one thread; on top of that, english is not my first language and i'm not american, i care about delivering quality writings, respecting yalls muses & giving you replies you can work with, and actually writing my characters as people. i'm constantly reading and researching for roleplaying when i'm not studying or working in real life, some threads are easy for me to reply to faster because i already have a mental blueprint for how i wanna respond to that, or i have read the relevant material and it's fresh in my mind. i am a slow replier. i am someone who rereads your carrds/dossiers & biographies & rules 500 times a day, i read up on your muses' fandoms or canon verses, i google things related to your muses' occupations because i'm stupid, i study your blogs to tailor my replies to you. talking for me is very hard because i am on the introverted side and i am not always a funny person & i don't always have a lot to say ooc, i get distracted easily and i take time to get back to replying. i struggle with chronic illnesses physically and mentally. i may be able to write a reply in one sitting, but that reply comes from months of reading, writing, and researching. i don't follow blogs if i'm unsure how to rp with them, i don't make blogs if i haven't read enough for the muse i wanna rp. i miss my long-term ocs a lot, but it's likely i'll ever give them their own blogs because they require a lot of research and reading i frankly know i can't do. i enjoy starting new projects and consistency is hard for me everywhere, i struggled a lot in highschool for this! i'm so tired of saying this, but please don't take my reply speed ic or ooc personally. i'm trying my best, especially bc i know replying or writing without knowing what i'm talking about or pretending to understand what you're saying is frankly disrespectful. please understand that if i interact in other ways other than roleplay threads, that's my way of letting you know i see you, and i'll circle back to you eventually. that's all, thank you.
