It's #MakeupMonday so let's talk about what made the Phantom makeup on the Third National Tour so memorable. 😎
The 3NT look featured a more dramatic "good" (left) side, with a bold, drawn in eyebrow, colorful treatment of the left eye, red tones in the contour, and a bright red (and very exaggerated) lip. It was also flawlessly applied by the late, great Rudy Guerrero, the Tour's longtime makeup artist. Rudy was also a drag artist; he brought that clean, dramatic technique to the character and created a truly legendary and beloved look that played beautifully on stage.
This was a bold departure for me, as I usually have a more subtle application on the left side for photos, convention attendance, etc. I hoped I could do Rudy's work justice, and I'm quite happy with the outcome. 🥰
