“Flowers.” Eleanor wasn’t much of a flower person, but apparently, men had an affinity for gifting them whenever there was a ‘special’ occasion, but instead of speaking her mind, this time she found it better to keep her thoughts to herself and accept the gift as she offered a smile to him. “Well, you really didn’t have to show up with this, but thank you, but come on in... unless you want to stand out there or have someone where else to be and you’re more than ready to leave.” She opened the door for him, stepping aside.

What was he supposed to say? no? well, he could, but the previous texts that he had sent made it evident that that wasn’t necessarily the case. So what was going to make him look less like a fool? answering with a yes, that he, in fact, had been trying to ‘sext’ him, or no? an obvious lie at this point. Honestly, he didn’t know.

Those that I know like to say that I’m a terrible driver.” Which wasn’t a lie, but it was something Eleanor never liked to admit, except for right now when it seemed convenient to her. “But...” She took the keys of her car out of her car and offered them to him. “I trust you with my car, so how about you drive me home instead? Of course, you can always say no, and let’s just hope I get home safe. It's all up to you.”

“Don’t you dare.” By the look on her face, it was evident that she meant what she said and she was expecting for him to drop that snowball he was already holding in his hand. Always the perfect clothes, the perfect makeup, and never a hair out of place, she wasn’t about to ruin anything about her appearance by participating in such a childish game. “You throw that at me, and you will find yourself sleeping in the car tonight.” Yes, it was his house, but that had never stopped her from doing what she wanted and kick him out.

It’s not my fault that you haven’t fixed the heater.” Eleanor could have grabbed her things, paid for a hotel room where she would have been brought the finest of food to her room, accompanied by the most expensive wine, and then comfortably spend the night without having to throw five blankets on her in order to remain warm, but here she was, in this house, the one she liked to complain about whenever possible. “If you’re cold, there are towels, grab those. I’m sure it’s kind of the same thing, right?”
