This isn't him, she thinks, watching his eyes flicker darkly."We both have Dad issues," she assures him, placing her hand on top of his.
Luke shakes his head, and Thalia isn't sure what to do. Luke always has his moods, but she hates seeing him like this.
"Don't worry about it," he tells her. And when he brushes his lips over hers as a reassurance, she can't seem to find a worry in the world.

Frank fidgets uncomfortably. "Sometimes, I just feel like Leo's your new best friend."
Hazel smiles, sensing a small bit of jealously in his words. "Frank Zhang, are you jealous of Leo?"
He blushes fiercely. "No."
"I don't like Leo," she promises, patting Frank's chest. "I'm more of a fan of shapeshifters."
Reyna picks a grape off of the vine before her, and Jason's hand itches with the need to push her hair behind her ears.
"Senate meeting tomorrow," she mentions casually. "Any plans for after?"
"I may or may not be kissing a really pretty girl named Reyna," Jason answers in the same tone. She blushes, and it's a rarity.
