“Relax, grandma, I’ll be out of your hair soon. Besides, don’t you want to know why I’m here?” He leaned against the armrest of her couch, keeping his arms crossed. He’d seen her get violent before and he’d rather not go there again.
“I’m giving you a chance to ask me some questions. Get some closure. After that you’ll never see me again. Take it or leave it, Hazuki.”
Why bother with codenames or formalities? He meant business, and she needed to know it.
“Hmph. You’ve got a lot of nerve, Aoi Kurashiki.”
Hazuki didn’t know why she’d let him waltz in like this, not even attempting to slap him across the face. That wasn’t like her. Yes, the anger had managed to dissipate a tiny bit in the days since the game ended, especially after Seven explained several things to her, but that didn’t mean she was happy to see him.
“I’ll start with the obvious. Nine years ago, nine sets of twins participated in the original Nonary Game. My daughters were among them, as were you and your sister. Well, I’d like to know why you put me through this hell, and not one of the other parents. Answer me that.”
