Dear Fresher Me

Some life lessons from a happier but more cynical version of you:

1) You will fall in love with people and places you never thought would be yours. They will always be yours.

2) You did it pretty much alone and don’t let anyone tell you any different.

3) Don’t forget where you came from. It informs how you deal with a lot of stuff. 

4) You have the best and most supportive family you could possibly ask for. Maybe it took some of them til now to show that properly but now is when it really starts to ring true.

5) Cambridge will give you the chance to be yourself without fear or compromise, don’t undermine that.

6) You will make it. You will drag yourself through hell and back right in the middle of your time here but you will come out the other side. 

7) You'll fall in love, twice. 

8) You learn that being liked is more about being yourself than doing what others want you to do. You never know you might become ‘officially’ popular by accident just by making friends...

9) You'll realise some difficult things about yourself. You might not have what it takes but you have other skills that you just have to find.

10) You will learn to chill. You'll learnt to be independent. Your mum will tell you she's proud of you and most importantly you will be so happy.
