I know I'm very lucky to be able to have too surgery but I'm still struggling to love my body. I feel like I'm wasting this surgery by being overweight and not eating well. I also know that is untrue. Life has ups and downs and when I'm feeling better mentally ill be able to focus on myself physically. I do like these photos tho. Nearly 6 months Post op.

@blakely0_0 “Yes, yes...I know..another shirtless picture BUT about 4 years ago (October) when I was looking for people who look like me, I couldn't find them. . I CANT relate to dudes whose always been under 100lbs and NEVER had to bind because let's be honest...the struggle is NOT the same . So I stay visible and shirtless.” . . . . . #motivation #fitness #fitnesstransformation #leanmuscle #bulk #musclemass #deadlift #standout #standup #bodytransformation #transmasculine #weightlossjourney #mindovermatter #explorepage #transandshirtless #ftmathlete #ftmtransition #transmanofinstagram #transandproud #blackpride #blm https://www.instagram.com/p/CUqR2ilhCqT/?utm_medium=tumblr
Reposting from @domwolf87 to show you what can happen if you don’t quit 👏💪 - There are a few years between these photos so this isn’t an overnight transformation. This is a realistic view of what can be achieved with consistency and hard work. - Shane hasn’t always been the most consistent 😝 but he really picked it up and it shows. Not only is he consistent with his workouts but he is consistent with his intensity in the gym. He is probably the only one I have to consistently tell to take things down a notch 😂 - Perseverance + consistency with workouts and effort is key 🔑 - Proud of you Shane can’t wait to keep seeing your progress! 👏 ・・・ Posing practice Monday (6/14) post upper workout. Scroll all the way to see when i first started training with Cody pre top surgery. Less than 15lbs difference but body composition so drastically different its crazy! Today is the day! Today is a day I never dreamed would get here. On this date, exactly one year ago, I had just gotten home from the doctor who had just prescribed me testosterone. With needle and vial in hand I began my medical journey to become who I had always known myself to be. It is on days like this where I am reminded of just how fortunate I am to live this life. I am here, I am loud, and I am visible. I also want to thank all of you for being here with me through this journey! It’s wild to me that I have this platform to tell my story. Happy manniversary to me! • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • #anniversary #testosterone #oneyear #hrt #ftmtransition #ftmtransgender #ftm #topsurgery #hormones #transgender #trans #transpride #chocolatecake #losangeles #queer #queerpride #transpride #transandunified #ftmpride (at Woodland Hills, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9frQQ-hcnQ/?igshid=b9ugzr8ku8pg
Being a black trans man how would you describe your journey so far ?
The one thing people dont really talk about but is very difficult as a trans poc (or any transgender person) is finding a job. Many employers would ask for me to bring in my ID and after seeing my name and gender marker they'd say they'll call me later but NEVER called back. This happened 23 times (yes I've kept count) in the past 2 years of my transition. A lot of people are very prejudiced. When I worked for Subway (last month) my manager constantly misgendered and dead named me (with a full beard in front of customers). Now that I finally have my legal documents fixed I will never take it for granted. Overall my journey has had its ups and downs, but I always told myself it DOES get better, and it did. 😁
