i know this girl who inhales like curtains to open windows. sips tea instead of communion. lives in water like constant baptism. who sleeps as she lives- restless, searching, wild for a dream. who apologizes so often i wonder if she said sorry the whole time she was born. if the first thing she knew was how to be guilty for existing. i know a girl who can reach past anxiety like a noose. who can pick up the phone and through the roar of waterfalls, tell me "i'm not ready to surrender." who on her worst days reminds me of tsunamis, of forest fires, of daybreak. of destruction for the sake of renewal.

Happy Hump Day

I am sooooo tired. The phones don't stop ringing at work and I'm one of three people who's set up to answer first. One of the other 2 girls is out until Tuesday. And I have so much paperwork I have to catch up with, it's not even funny. I like to be busy but I feel like I'll never catch up. By the time I get home I just want to have a nap since I'm exhausted. It doesn't help that I haven't been able to sleep well. But I can't take a nap cause I have to make myself go walking. I didn't walk Monday but I did go walking yesterday. I have to do some serious walking today. We had a pot luck today. Good grief, I went to lunch at 11 and most everything minus the sweets were gone. But they brought more sweets than casseroles. So of course I ended up eating a whole bunch of things I didn't need to eat!! Anyway, don't mind my ranting and happy hump day!!
