If you want to get technical, while they weren't conceived the normal ways they are genetically related. Dark was created from the DNA of Samu, Metroid prime and her phazon suit. It's either sisters or .....mother and daughter I think?

Rae Refsheet

I try not to develop Rae. They're me and the development is explicitly left to my OCs. But what I do have is that they're some type of alien and/or other worldly being with the ability to warp and alter their shape as well as mold the shapes of others. Assimilation, sybiote-like possession, body changes, even removing someone's orifices so they suffocate! But she won't do that she's very normal
