The Welsh Mountaineer Approaching Hendre por Andrew Por Flickr: I'd trained to Betws and pretty much worked out there wouldn't be too many places to view the train pass by - trees and cuttings. The walk back confirmed this but just before Dolwyddelan, right next to the path, there was a culvert with an indented wooden fence with this view down the line. Clag heaven. Marvellous!

Steaming By Moorcock by Andrew Via Flickr: A really good viewpoint on the access land above Mount Zion Chapel near Garsdale. Plenty of warning as the train appears on the moors, a view of it crossing the viaduct and then a close up after it has crossed the A684 road bridge. It's an even better viewpoint if the wind isn't an easterly!
