Night sky over Ingleborough
150 years ago - on 1st May 1876 - a snorting, thundering beast roared through the upper reaches of the Ribble Valley: it was the first passenger train to officially run along the 73-mile line between Settle and Carlisle, crossing the mighty Ribblehead Viaduct that spans Batty Moss below.
