Film: 49th Parallel (1941)
Peter’s speech from Michael Powell’s 1941 propaganda film 49th Parallel, about the crew of a Nazi U-boat who are stranded in northern Canada and must reach the Neutral American border. In this scene, the Nazi lieutenant played by Eric Portman mistakenly assumes a Hutterite community will be sympathetic to the Nazi cause, and is rebuked by their leader, Peter, played by Anton Walbrook (who himself had to flee Nazi Germany due to his Jewish heritage and homosexuality).
