Project 5
So initially, I wanted to create a box with a video screen to show two sides of a situation. Kind of like a “not everything is what it seems” thing. I then thought of making it bigger with two projectors.
As time went on, I ended up coming up with a different idea. Being in this class, I have learned that art is all around us. At first, I was an art person that saw art in drawing a person, or taking a picture of a landscape. It was difficult for me to do any abstract art. This class has opened my eyes to all kinds of art now.
I thought of using water and light as my idea for coming up with art. I used my iphone camera to capture moments of water and light mixing in different ways. I ended up slowing the video down with the slo-mo camera. When I slowed time down, there was a different side to light an water. We could see different shapes in the way light reflected with water. It was mesmerizing and beautiful.

These are some screenshots of how I got my sample sounds. and mixed them for the video
This clip is one of the songs I recorded on my phone. It is what I used to make samples for the video project.
These are just some of the screen shots I used during my design of the project. I took more that 130 screenshots in different area of the spectrum. These are the images that were manipulated to the final shots. Some parts were essentially animated with about 20 screen shots just blended together.
Project #3
I would like to focus on abstract work with audio. Adobe audition has a spectral frequency analyzer that visually shows the sound in their respective frequencies along with their harmonic frequencies. It sometimes paints cool images. just like the one in this post. I would like to animate this picture to make it seem like we are walking through this spectrum hearing the different frequencies.
Adobe audition has a cool feature where you can highlight a certain location of the spectrum and only hear those frequencies. As we are visually seeing the other frequencies, we will also be hearing those bits in time.
It will be a challenge to animate the picture above but I am going to try to find the way to make it work. I like the top part of the picture because I feel like if you were to walk through the dark spots, it is like walking through a weird forest withe orange looking trees.
The way I am thinking of animating is maybe datamoshing, or possibly just using screenshots of different sections and animating those one at a time. Another option will be using maybe blender or another 3D modeling program to make an illusion of walking through the sound. Its going to be a little difficult to get the vision I have, but I am going to try my best to get there.
