“fucking idiot,” you mutter, sitting down before ryu on the bed, a leg folded beneath you as you carefully set the bowl of hot soup on the nightstand.

ryu smiles at you boyishly. his silence is rare, and it sends a stupid pang to your heart. you poke him in the chest, hard.

“have you learned to not scream at the top of your friggin lungs every time you get a point?”

tanaka grins, a raspy, hollow laugh pushing its way through his throat. he shakes his head to answer you and takes the finger at his chest before you can retreat your hand. and then he’s caressing your cheek, eyes real soft. his lips move quickly to form silent proclamations and you just barely catch it. iloveyou, and then he’s hoisting you and tossing you over him into the bed. you screech and your feet shoot out without your consent. your toes collide with something warm, and then a high smashing sound. you and tanaka whip your heads over to see broken china by the wall and soup seeping into the carpet.
