Just finished tattoo session #4 for a coverup that I'm working on. Here's some pictures of what I got done today. I've got like 3 more sessions to complete this sleeve.

Session Four Summary: Friendship Steaks (short)

The party wakes, inspects the edge of the woods and before they can enter, an owlbear comes barreling out towards them. They go into combat with the vicious owlbear, but Aal doesn’t want to kill the creature. She manages to calm the owlbear completely with animal handling, but the next turn, Dreya casts thunder wave and nearly kills EVERYONE and angers the bear. Dreya nearly dies and ends up with a good chunk swiped out of her freshly-tattooed ass.

They end up taking down the bear, chopping it up for meat and making friendship steaks and sausages with it. Giles inspects the forest using her primeval awareness and she catches a glimpse of a dryad moving by, deep in the woods.

My fourth session.

I did well, but I know I could’ve done better. I feel like I’m going to say this every session. I hope I don’t have to because I know I can do better with this new session and future sessions. This session was quite a struggle. But I only that my future classes are only going to get harder. I survived this session. I am planning on retaking my fundamentals class for a better grade. I think it won’t be until next year. My sessions are going by super fast because I’m already at my 5th session & I have 14 sessions total. 9 sessions left. I want to finish strong not only for this new session but for every session that I will be going through.

On the positive side, I improved part 2 of my health assessment class AND I passed my final assessment check off on my first try. I should give myself credit for the little improvements I’ve made.

The 4th Session

Context: Full party! Whoo! Also for some reason Leo chose not to share the fact that the party broke Melinda out of Saint Joseph’s with Ryan. Not that important yet, just interesting.

Everyone, now including Melinda, met up at Leo and Ryan’s house as per usual. Ryan left for work and the party promptly realized that Lily’s parents cats had been left alone for three weeks. They rushed off to her parents house and found a pair of fat, happy cats who had managed to claw open the food bag. Lily finally got a chance to have her new talking to animals ability shine and found that the cats were pretty happy. Their names are Brad and Toes btw. Anyways Lily, Ryan, and Leo chose to keep Toes and Rory adopted Brad. And then the players all went back to the house again. It was a slow start to the session.

Rory realized that he might be a witch and decided to talk to Kadira about it. Lily and Leo accompanied to her house but then chose to remain in the car. Rory managed to stop Kadira from freaking out long enough to share his suspicions that Kadira basically confirmed. Then she shared her suspicions that her brother, Sani, and his wife, Amala, were kidnapped by someone from Sani’s powers. Rory tells her about the base, Agent Holland, and the fact that they’re planning on attacking it. She offers her help for the attack, her only real power is blowing shit up, and Rory accepts.

While this all was happening Benjamin received a call from Agent Holland. Agent Holland had found out that Benjamin is made of steel and wants him for their secret government program. To this end, the secret government program kidnapped Benjamin’s ex-wife Charlotte, and his son, Benjamin Jr.. Holland told Benjamin that if he turned himself in then they’d be kept safe. Benjamin responded by hanging up, snapping his Nokia in half, and deciding to rally an attack force.

After about a solid 40 minutes in realtime of strategic discussion they finally decided on a plan. Benjamin was going to eat gun parts and Lily, then he was going to turn himself in with Violet hovering alongside. Once they had discovered the location of the hostages, Rory (who was keeping track of everything through scrying), Leo, Hambone (who agreed to help because of Charolette), Liv (who only agreed to do recon), Kadira, and the militia would attack. During all of this Rory also decided to make a deal with a god for more information about Liv, in exchange for three vaguely answered questions he promised Hoenir that he would turn the library into a shrine and also that he would give lambchops to Hoenir twice a day. It wasn’t a good deal. The party also decided to leave Ryan at the house even though they suspected that the government had tracked the call back there. This was mistake number one.

Mistake number two was not asking how the government knew that Benjamin was made of metal.

So Benjamin turns himself in and is taken to an interrogation room by Holland. He’s told that if he lies they’ll shoot the hostages. He then turns on a screen revealing Charlotte, Benjamin Jr., and Ryan handcuffed to chairs. This is the result of mistake number one. So since Benjamin is getting a death stare from Leo he answers Holland’s questions honestly. This includes the questions about how he became a metal man (shadow creatures!), how he’s able to function in public (he’s able to change his shape at will), and if he knows any other magical creatures (he reveals everyone but Liv and Benton). Since he revealed Lily’s existence and her powers, Holland asked if she was the true source of his illusions and if she was here now. Because Lily was afraid that Ryan would be shot she revealed herself. Holland asked if there was anyone else here and Violet revealed herself.

The questioning then continued uninterrupted until Benjamin bragged that there was a storm coming and the militia was on their way to attack the base. Holland responded that of course they knew about that, and how did Benjamin think that they found out about him? Rory decided to share with the entire militia that there was a traitor in their ranks. The militia then started a standoff with everyone and Sarah accused Leo of being the spy. Leo sucks at rapport so he was effectively kicked out of the assault team. This was the result of mistake number two.

At this point the part of the party that was stuck in the interrogation room realized that they needed to do something quickly so Violet looped the camera feed in the room and Benjamin punched out Holland. Unfortunately, Violet had to stay close to the interrogation to continue looping the tape so she wasn’t able to locate the hostages. Since that didn’t really get them anywhere and they weren’t able to break the door door, although they didn’t realize that Violet could have hacked it (mistake number three), so to get the door opened they broke the cameras and waited for someone to go checkout the problem.

Since Rory realized how fucked everything was he decided to scy the hostages instead. He found them pretty quickly and so decided to lead a strike team himself with Melinda and Liv as his backup. So they had to sprint across a field covered by snipers and kill two door guards before anyone could get shot. Unfortunately Rory sucks at running and he slowed the group down enough that Liv got shot in the arm before they group got into the base. Liv and Melinda decided that they would hold the door while Rory went ahead to get the prisoners out, to that end Liv gave him her cloak of feathers which transformed him into a sparrow, so off he flew.

When Leo got kicked out of the assault team he decided to try to get Benton’s help. He succeeded though Benton only communicated through menacing beckoning. Benton managed to get eyes in the base by hacking the cameras and generally just provided a command center.

When Rory got to the prisoner room he found it unguarded, with only Ryan there. Ryan told him that the guards had left with Charlotte and Benjamin Jr., Rory uncuffed Ryan, called Leo to get Kadira’s number, then called/scryed Kadira to play hot and cold. He wanted her to blow a hole into the base so that he and Ryan could escape. It took a bit but it was succesful, Ryan got out and Kadira and Rory decided to venture farther into the base to find her brother Sani (the healing witch) and his wife Amala as soon as Rory got a chance to check on the others.

The door was opened to the interrogation room was indeed opened by four soldiers, two of whom had the human shields of Benjamin Jr. and Charlotte. Benjamin grabbed them and shoved them behind him but in the ensuing fight Charlotte was shot in the gut. It then became a desperate race against time to get Charlotte to medical help before she bled out. This was the result of mistake number three.

Rory met up with the rest of the party at the entrance to the base. Liv was dead but Melinda was still fighting using the very air as her weapon. With Benjamin’s help they made quick work of them. Rory then told the party that he needed help with getting the remaining prisoners, including the fucking healer, out and only Lily chose to go with him. This is mistake number 4.

Benjamin, Benjamin Jr., Lily, Melinda, Violet (who was also levitating Liv’s body) decided to make a break for it. During their flight one of the bullet’s meant for Benjamin hit Charlotte, killing her instantly and probably traumatizing Benjamin Jr. forever (This is the result of mistake number 4). Benjamin dropped Charlotte and booked it with everyone else. They all got out safely and got to Benton and Liv’s house.

On the other side of the base Kadira, Rory, and Lily found Sani and Amala guarded by 8 soldiers. They hadn’t actually planned anything out beyond this point, Rory and Lily have no strong offensive capabilities and Kadira’s explosions would likely have killed Sani and Amala as well. So Rory decided to make a deal with the literal fucking devil, or as I like to call it mistake number five. So in exchange for one time power to kill the 8 guards Rory traded away Liv’s magic cloak. That’s gonna come back to bit him next session. At any rate it worked, they got Sani and Amala out although they were unable to free everyone, Ruth D. was taken away in a helicopter. At any rate it was mostly a successful attack, if you discount the fact that everyone needs to blow town now since the government knows who and what they are.

Fourth Session - Summary

Players were asked to aid a Town in their war against the Fae who had recently awakened due to the returning magic. In return the town would give them their mail. They wiped the mayors mind and left.

I would like a refund. This is bullshit. I did not ask to almost die. At least I got a scythe, and Viatori seems to tolerate my presence more.

We killed a total of 23 cultists, and a fire elemental. 2 cultists left alive, and one teleported away.

My past seems to be more, persistent, than I would like. Just my luck.
