Fin growth, one month in! Color differences due to time of day (1pm vs 10pm). He needs many more plants though. Finally got a good plant light, plants next.

Review; the Topfin Retreat (5G)

So, a month back I bought a Topfin Retreat because I was planning to get a koi betta after it cycles and I thought that such a beautiful fish deserves a beautiful tank, rather than the standard black-rimmed 5g all my other bettas are in. After buying this and seeing how gorgeous it is in person, all my future bettas will be getting one of these as well. (It’s just that worth it)

So, upon opening the box, the tank was well packaged and without a scratch. Setup of the filter and lighting took only a few minutes. Even without an inhabitant (I do a month-long fishless cycle before i introduce a fish) it didn’t have any leaks or issues through the whole cycle, unlike an off-brand standard 5g that leaked awfully and had to be tossed. The filter functions wonderfully and the lighting is strong enough that I will be able to introduce live plants in a few weeks when Monet is more settled.
