A king Betta! He's large but definitely think hes young and will get bigger and develop more color. His sparkly body is amazing though!

idk if you take asks abt fish care, its fine if u dont! but im really desperate rn :(

i set up a tank yesterday, 10 gallon, dechlorinated, filter, heater, soft plants, a betta log, everything i need really for a happy betta. i didnt cycle it because i was stupid and bought my fish at the same time. at one point i saw him sleeping, checked up, and he was alright. at the end of the night, he went to the bottom of his tank and laid kn his side, as theyre known to do to sleep, but i woke up and he hasnt moved since that time last night and i think he passed. i dont know really what couldve done it other than just general stress ???

as a kid i had a bunch of bettas but never in a great setup, always setup on the first day, in a gallon bowl with one little castle or something with it, improper substrate, no filter or heater and some lived YEARS! surely i thought having the right preparation but doing that same step i went through as a kid would be just fine, but i guess not ?? i just really want to know what couldve done this to my fish :(

btw, he was fine at the pet store, i work there and have seen him just about every day for the past month almost and he hasnt really shown any bad signs that could make me think hes not healthy, and if it were an illness he already had he wouldve already passed in that tiny cup

That sounds like a tough situation. I would definitely test the water to see if something is off, though it could have been stress as well especially if he wasn't acclimated properly (tempature perhaps?)
