The existence of the WarioWare games within the greater Mario universe is so fascinating to me because it means Wario is constantly going back and forth between two different friend groups, one of which seemingly doesn’t know the other exists at all.
I guess I have to admire his dedication to keeping his work and downtime activities completely separate from each other.
Tldr the crygors become gamers and the volts become scientists but they get to keep their cute music side hobbies
Crygor swaps with 5-volt, he’s like a programmer. Not super good at games like 5-volt but still a nerd in the sense that hes insane at coding. I think he gets game ideas from the kids, like if Penny mentions something she wishes a game had, he will just add it in for her. I think he has the unassuming old man persona being like “haha im too old for these games i dont understand a thing” but he’s a modding fiend
Mike swaps with 18-volt as in he’s unofficially adopted into the family. I wanted him to be like 18-volt in that he looks way older than he is cause he’s super tall, but saying he’s Penny’s age is still probably too much of a stretch so I’ll say he’s a teenager. I think they would meet cause they both hang out at a park or something all the time and discovered they have all the same interests. And Crygor sees this teen whos always at the park with like no friends and goes yeah this is my kid now
Penny swaps with 9-volt as in shes just a little kid super fixated on games. I think she drags Mike into playing with her and he pretends to dread it but he does actually enjoy it. She’s like the only kid who can say “my grandpa works at nintendo” and is actually kind of right. Crygor does not want her flexing this though because then he has kids knocking down the door for him to mod their games too.
Doris-1 swaps with Fronk as in she’s a weird family pet. I think she was a virus Crygor accidentally created and tried to destroy before anyone found out but she creepypasta style came to life and escaped the computer. The kids think she’s cute though and she doesn’t seem to be causing harm so he reluctantly leaves her alone. She may or may not hold a grudge for him trying to destroy her, though.
5-volt swaps with Crygor as in she’s a genius cyborg scientist of ambiguous age. Do not ask her. I think she’s a little scary but just adores her family more than anything. When she gets angry, her eye turns red and the metal parts of her visor get longer and sharper to look like her horns in her angry form
18-volt swaps with mike as in he’s a robot created by 5-volt. She wanted to create a friend for her son to never be lonely, so she made 18-volt as a perfect companion that she felt would perfectly appeal to him. He can be used as a speaker, and often creates his own music even if nobody tells him to. He loves being 9-volt’s friend and isn’t rebellious like Mike, but he often wonders what it would be like to explore the world and put himself first.
9-volt swaps with Penny so he’s a little older and more mature, but retains a lot of the same personality, just fixated on science rather than video games. He pretty much just creates whatever is coolest to him in the moment. He is always super eager to show off his inventions, but quickly moves on to a new, more exciting project the moment one is finished.
Fronk swaps with Doris-1 as in he is the under-appreciated caretaker of the lab. He doesn’t have the same dubious intentions though, he’s just supportive and accepting of whatever is told of him. I think he was the first robot made by 5-volt and she set him free to live a whole life, and now after decades has come back to live a simple life assisting where he can. Has mountains of stories to tell but typically just quietly does his job.
